Excellent location for walking to city centre and both cathedrals. . Plenty of bars & restaurants around. Staff very friendly & informative.Rooms very clean with comfortable bed .Our shower was good too. Have stayed here before hence we returned

The room was clean. It was very basic but did the job for what we needed. We had a few issues though. Firstly the room was ridiculously hot. There is no air conditioning so you are relying on a desktop fan to cool you down. I was literally sweating throughout my whole stay. The rooms are in the basement so there aren't any windows. This is described in the room description but can cause issues with knowing what time of the day it is. The shower was powerful and hot. We did have an issue turning the temperature down to a cooler level though. The shower also seemed to take a while to drain of water which meant we were standing in a pool of water for most of our showers. We did notice a stain on the side of the bed which looks like it may have been caught whilst the cleaner was mopping the floors. When we removed the duvet from the sheet, we did also notice some yellow stains which weren't very pleasant. I'm guessing this was because they don't tend to wash their duvets and don't expect guests to take them out of the sheets. The toilet was a bit bizarre. Unlike normal toilets where they are fixed to the floor, this one was fixed to the wall and made some creaking sounds when sitting on it which made me a little concerned. There was also a metal pole above the sink that was loose where you put your toiletries etc. For what we paid (£55) for a room on Saturday night, located centrally to pretty much everywhere, we can't really complain. Staff seemed friendly enough however didn't seem to concerned about how our stay was on checking out. There were also some quite dodgy characters lurking about outside as I believe there is some sort of homeless shelter located opposite. We never had any issues though, we were asked a few times for change. The Indian restaurant located next door is very nice and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend it. I don't think we would stay here again, just down to the fact that the room was ridiculously hot. Other than that, it was decent for the money we paid.
