Beautiful old traditional hotel on North shore promenade. This is one of Blackpool's original hotels, the Central staircase is stunning & I could imagine how beautiful it'd have been, however in 2024 we expect different things, like ensuite shower rooms, lifts, etc. Some of the rooms have been refurbished, two friends in our group were in 350 - twin with sea view. This room was excellent, however the other rooms the rest of my group had were not as good, two steps to get into bathroom (safely issue for many). Breakfast is great, dinner hit and miss. Evening entertainment was a singer for 30 mins one night. The bar area is beautiful and Sally the barmaid was exceptional, she engaged with guests and brought fun. Alex on reception sorted a room issue for me, he was considerate and professional. These staff made the stay best it could be. This hotel is one of the cheapest, please remember that & don't expect 4 star quality. Personally, I won't stay here again and that's mainly due to the standard and accessibility needs.

“Great staff, smelly rooms.”

The staff at the Savoy hotel in Blackpool were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is rather shabby, but ok for a short cheap break. The staff at the Savoy hotel in Blackpool were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is rather shabby, but ok for a short cheap break. Many of the rooms had a very strange odour; one lady said it was urine in her room, some said feisty, my room had an unpleasant acrid smell on the carpet which I now have been told is dog urine -- dogs deposit small amounts of urine around the edges of a new environment to 'mark their territory'. I had to clean the bath before I could use it.

Room on first floor. Easy walk up the stairs although there is a lift available. Comfortable double bed. Room has basic amenities plus tea and coffee. En-suite with bath. Room on first floor. Easy walk up the stairs although there is a lift available. Comfortable double bed. Room has basic amenities plus tea and coffee. En-suite with bath. Hot water was lukewarm at best. Bathroom clad in plastic fake marble. Cheap metal loo roll holder. A couple of small soap tablets provided with adequate supply of towels. Nothing really wrong with the room apart from everything appeared to be cheap quality not really in keeping with an elegant Victorian hotel.
