Tylney Hall was a last minute booking for us as we had had a small flood at the home and needed to get somewhere that could take us all. The place itself is incredible. A stunning building, phenomenal grounds. Really really excellent. We had to request a few extras for the room (a fridge, an extra bed and a second tv) and these were sorted super quick. But the grounds and the building don't make up for the service or the prices, sadly. The first night, in the lounge area, we ordered one kids bowl of pasta, fish and chips, and a cauliflower stake. This with a bottle of wine (which arrived after we'd finished our meal but ordered before) and two cocktails came to over £200! When we looked at it, the 'vegan steak' (actually a slice of cauliflower was £29. This was more expensive than the cod and chips! At that point we should've gone for deliveroo. But hey, we were on holiday - and we needed the break from the building site of the house, and so the following evening, for two adults and child for dinner. Same deal, two cocktails, a bottle of wine, and two courses + dessert. This time it came to over £350. Incredible. Combine that with bar staff that don't know how to make an old-fashioned, drinks service slower than food, and overall settling up at the end left a really bad taste in the mouth. Which is a shame really because it was refreshing to go to such a nice spa where kids are allowed in the pool and that my wife's allergies were so brilliantly catered for (everything in the menu is marked up properly). I would love to recommend Tylney Hall but I can only say 'Go!' if you are a) rolling in money and b) rolling in time.

“Lovely location with excellent staff and food”
The hotel is in a lovely location. Staff and food are excellent. Rooms are really nicely laid out given the style of the hotel. My only issue is with the bed mattresses, which for a premium hotel are way too soft to guarantee a good nights sleep.
