This super stay got off to a great start thanks to Colm’s warm welcome, fantastic local knowledge and clear focus on a positive customer experience. The room was equally as warm, welcoming and well presented. Restaurant food was first class with the cooked breakfast so fresh it was too hot to eat for a few minutes after being served in the stylish surroundings of the ground-floor bar and restaurant areas. A late check out was made possible thanks to my IHG status with Katt being super helpful and recognised my loyalty in an authentic and not corporate way. I was truly impressed by the stay, largely thanks to a clearly superb team of people keen to ensure guests have a memorable time.

Used to frequent the hotel for drinks and nibbles when we lived in Glasgow but had never stayed. Opted to have a wee overnight stay rather than just a day trip to the city. I had messaged in advance asking if we could drop our luggage early which I was advised was no issue. We arrived not long after 10am and got a wonderful welcome from Ivana who advised that our room was ready! She is an absolute credit to the hotel. This was great as it meant we could drop our belongings. Even better that after a few hours shopping we could take our bags back rather than having to drag them around while we dined and had drinks. Our room 219 was gorgeous. Clean and comfortable with the most fabulous bed. Myself and my partner were so comfortable that we were asleep before 10pm! Only thing I noticed was that I’m not sure the heating in our room was working but we weren’t cold. WiFi was great, hospitality tray well stocked with some bottled water and treats in our fridge. Loved the Arran Aromatics toiletries in the bathroom. Wished we had booked for brekkie but will do that next time. Checkout was smooth. Dealt with by a lovely irish spoken gent on reception. My new fave in Glasgow.

“December 2024”
Lovely hotel next to central station. Our room was massive and very well decorated. Nice powerful shower. The staff were very good and did a wonderful job of looking after us. Would highly recommend this hotel. Will certainly stay here again.

Visited this hotel for a short stay over the Christmas period. The staff on duty were professional, attentive and friendly. The restaurant I had breakfast in each morning was spacious, scrupulously clean and airy. There was a large selection of cold items instantly available, hot food is made to order. I couldn't fault any aspect of the food apart from the poached eggs which were under cooked each morning despite asking for them to be cooked as expected. The room I booked was a Premium Category on the 5th floor, I had hoped for a complimentary upgrade as a Platinum member of the IHG loyalty programme but alas it was not meant to be, that said if I had known that the floorboards on the 5th floor were that creaky and rickety I would not have booked regardless. The issues I also experienced were lack of soundproofing, I except its an old building, that said, it has been converted to a 4 star establishment and you would expect that adequate soundproofing in the bedrooms were paramount. Sadly I was awoken each night to the guest in the adjourning room coming in late, always seemed to be pacing up and down the room, and always on his mobile. To make matters, another guest had obviously checked in and this time the television was on and I could still practically hear every word he was speaking on the mobile despite the television blaring away. I had to contend with squeaking floorboards, inadequate dividing wall soundproofing, again if I had known, I would not have booked. Just when you think things could not get any worse, I went to charge my shaver and toothbrush and low and behold the socket was not working. When I enquired with the front desk I was told that all the bedrooms do have shaver sockets, however they are not connected, they will all be replaced between January - March 2025. What baffles me is why the builders handed over the hotel after a recent conversion when it was not properly finished as not one bedroom but all the bedrooms were not connected, very bizarre. I had to contend with a wet shave daily due to lack of electricity in the sockets and had to contend with a manual toothbrush. If I had known beforehand I would not have booked. Especially when the Voco hotel around the corner has a similar price and is part of the same IHG group. They do have a Greener Stay system in place, earn 500 loyalty points if you do not get your room cleaned daily, I chose no housekeeping at all. it's a great incentive and saves the environment. Unfortunately, it did not work as expected, I only received points for two nights rather than 3 nights, considering I was staying for 4 nights I couldn't see any excuse. Again, a system not running correctly. On a positive note, as a Platinum member of the IHG group I was given an apology for all the issues and offered 4,000 points as a gesture of goodwill. The location of the hotel is a few minutes walk away from Glasgow Central station, you are in the hustle and bustle of the city with all the shops and eateries. I would rate the hotel an average score despite all the snagging issues above as the staff were very professional, food was generally very good, location is great and the hotel is lovely and clean with a comfortable bed.

On positive note, the hotel is in prime location with access to everything around. It’s really nice to see the receptionist helped us with early check-in by saving our day to take rest. On other feedback, No value for money! 1. Room 304 is too small! We had two night stay here with family. There was no space to store our luggage (two small-size trolley and carry bag). No storage space/cupboard but only 4 hangers for our jackets. It was really difficult to manage with two kids. 2. For two days parking charge itself was €41, one day breakfast at €77. The food is not worth of the cost! As on today, the room rate per night shows around €78 in booking.com but daily breakfast costs €77 and €17 for parking daily which is more than a day stay cost. 3. The rooms are too close to each other with just a simple partition, causing disturbing sound from next room through-out the night on 29-Dec.
