Top hotel very friendly and always willing to help, big thank you to Akshay, Priya, louis, Zoe and Harry for there 10/10 service polite attitude and willingness to help at any time possible. Fantastic food the Guinness is a great pint, would recommend anyone to stay here.

TLDR - An updated, but old skool Marriott, a little off the beaten path in Glasgow, but very useful if you're needing this side of town near Glasgow Central, and the office district with a nice lounge and nice rooms. THE GOOD - The hotel once inside, is lovely - a large open check in area with lots of seating and a lovely signature scent. Check in staff lovely and friendly at both check in and check out. Windows do open in this hotel. They are double-double glazed with an air gap that you slide to open. My room faced the motorway though so there was a constant hum when the windows were open or closed. More on this later. In the room a nice armchair and a movable desk which was an interesting concept I've not seen before. Most of the sockets had USB C and USB A as well, and there were plenty of them. A small glass fronted fridge had two cans of water inside which was very much appreciated. Lounge is nice albeit small. Very much designed for eating not lounging though as most of the seats are cafe bar style tables with a couple of single sofa seats near the TV. So, thankfully food is served in the exec lounge from 1730. A mixture of small cold wraps, some hot buffet style fayre, decent beers (WEST Brewery and Innis & Gunn) and wine. Along with a cheeseboard and a lovely lemon tart. THE NOT SO GOOD - The tap wasn’t great at providing hot water for me. Even with both windows closed, there is a constant hum of the traffic. It certainly lessens at night but is still there. THE WEIRD - The bed was quite hard, which was fine for me but might not be for others. In contrast to the pillows which were fluffy and very good. The only pedestrian entrance path takes you past the most blindingly powerful lights that light up flags. Literally took me a few mins to regain my sight after inadvertently looking at one. Even without looking at them directly, it’s actually quite hard to not be extremely dazzled by them. I suggest hotel management take a walk by them in the evening, perhaps they need repositioning. THE PRACTICALS - It's not super easy to find on foot. Google maps tries to send you a weird way if you're coming from Queen Street - you're best to just walk down Argyle Street until you reach the hotel. 5G / 4G kept switching between each other on Vodafone and EE. Data ok-ish, certainly enough to browse normally. I didn’t partake in breakfast because I had an early meeting alas! IN SUMMARY - I'd stay here again for sure, however... I would request a room away from the motorway.

Stayed in this hotel 3 times now and it never disappoints it’s the one we look for when booking a hotel . Rooms have had a makeover since our last stay very nice very comfortable. Great breakfast choices and if your staying book yourself into the Spa they are wonderful fantastic massage my only complaint is hotel guests having to pay for parking on top of the room charge it’s a bug bear of mine it’s a rip off in my opinion.

Marriott goes budget Really disappointed and not impressed at the recent room refurbishments which are more akin to a budget hotel chain. - no wardrobes (just hanging rails) - no dressing table - no drawer, just one at the bedside for bibles (barely enough room for jocks & socks) - only one chair - only one low table (not suitable as a work station) - no kettle (just pods for a coffee machine) - only really suitable for one person for one night - totally unsuitable for a stay of any length - takes living out of suitcase to a new level Other changes to the public areas are good.
