We've stayed here several times, and this will defo be the last time. It's such a shame. Standards have definitely slipped, staff are rude, housekeeping needs improving, and generally, the hotel has lost its way as the prestigious hotel it once was. Instead, it panders to young clubbers who spend most of the night going up and down the lifts and stairs drunk, looking for the rooftop bar. The doorman who were always courteous and polite have adopted the dont care rude attitude. Before you even get out of the car, they tell you theres no check in before 3, and dont unpack. Instead, leave all your luggage in the car. What happened to politeness and being able to store bags securely whilst you can enjoy the hotel ahead of check in. We tried to sit in the reception lounge and immediately told to move because every table and seat was reserved for afternoon tea. It was before 12.00, and we just didn't mind where we waited for our family to arrive. On our second night having been out for the day, the gates of the carpark were closed, despite a lot of empy spaces, and my wife needing an accessible space close by as she is blue badge. Spoke to reception to be met with sorry we r full (sunday evening) try our overflow or a public car park despite all the free spaces out front where we had been parked. We only breakfasted in the hotel, and the chef clearly likes serving burnt toast with the eggs. What we didn't appreciate was overhearing comments from the kitchen area when my wife complained. Vermont, you have lost our future custom. Sorry, we are not twenty something drunks. Instead, we are in our sixties, regularly enjoying lifes luxuries, travelling, and expecting first-class service. Clearly, not the clientele you want or like!

I met with an old friend in the Redwood bar. The ambiance was lovely, it was comfortable, the staff were very attentive and accommodating. We had a few drinks then ordered a bar meal. I had a pasta dish which was OK ish but I left half of it. My friend had a chicken sandwich type of thing. The bread and the chicken were hard and dry. He left most of it. We would go back but only for drinks. Definitely not for food.
