“Lovely stay”

We arrived at the hotel for a one night stay. Parking was ideal at the multistorey across the road. With discount, £11 for 24 hours. We were greeted by Jonathon Watson who was very personable and had a good sense of humour. He was able to facilitate early check in as we needed to get changed for a wedding and wouldn't be back at the hotel until midnight. There were 2 cleaning staff on floor 5 who were extremely cheerful and polite. The rooms were warm, clean and comfortable, and a well stocked tea tray is provided. Bottled water isn't provided in the rooms but that wasn't an issue as we had brought our own. The only other thing that would have been an advantage would be a safe. We had a drink in the bar again, this was a warm and comfortable environment. If we travel to Newcastle again we would definitely stay in the same hotel. The staff are a credit to the company.

Had a very nice stay here for 2 nights to go to the arena and the boiler shop very short walk to both ( about 5 minutes) On arrival we were greeted at reception by very nice friendly staff, our room was ready and nice clean and comfortable and warm, with wheelchair accessible bathroom. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection of continental and the good old English breakfast it was nice to have the choice of eggs (fried, poached) cooked to order. All in all the hotel was very good, we had a issue in the night with other guests but the reception team dealt with the situation very well. We would certainly stay here again,

“Super friendly and helpful staff”

Super friendly staff, really helpful, rooms are comfortable but dated and are in need of a lot of tlc, large rooms but not enough storage for clothes, on the downside food ran out at breakfast, you were then waiting 5-10 minutes for eggs and bacon to come out, also looked like they had homeless peo… more

Super friendly staff, really helpful, rooms are comfortable but dated and are in need of a lot of tlc, large rooms but not enough storage for clothes, on the downside food ran out at breakfast, you were then waiting 5-10 minutes for eggs and bacon to come out, also looked like they had homeless people stopping there, overall not bad.

OK first off we arrived Fri afternoon reception staff were very friendly and helpful the hotel is situated very near the city centre the car park is just over the road in a multi storey. The hotel is clean and tidy although a little tired, the rooms are the same beds are quite comfortable we had no problem sleeping there is a bar that is by reception it's a little expensive but it's a hotel so that's not surprising they do lack staff however the restaurant is OK but that's about it they really need to look at staff training and management IE no sauces for the steak because they had no cream starters came out with the main meal which ment the main meal was cold at breakfast they constantly ran out of everything this is unacceptable the pass should NEVER be empty bad kitchen management the young girl was on her own running around like a headless chicken with no help from the manager again unacceptable this could be a good hotel but for the lack of details that said I would stay again because of its location to the city

We stayed 1 night on 2 occasions the same week as we attended two separate concerts, ideally Situated for the arena and close enough to everything plus the staff are some of the friendliest and helpful I've experienced in any hotel, also the beds are very comfortable,which takes care of the plus side. The hotel itself is tired, curtains that are torn, tiles loose in the bathrooms, basically it needs a revamp. We ordered 2 sandwiches in the restaurant on our first night as we were running a bit late, £9 each and the epitome of the fabled british rail sandwich, not exactly fresh and definitely not worth £18 for 2. As I said we would have complained but didn't have time. Simple things really let this hotel down, like the cleaner entering the room at 8 am, despite the do not disturb sign on the door. Badly repaired window that doesn't shut properly failing to shut out the traffic noise from the nearby trainstaion and flyover. The door stop in our first room being placed in such a rediculas place it is a potential toe stubber.
