Beautiful main building from the exterior. The addition where the rooms are however is very 60’s inside and out. Beautiful main building from the exterior. The addition where the rooms are however is very 60’s inside and out. Quite possibly the smallest hotel room I have ever been in- and it’s called a superior twin. Toilet seat covered with a paper wrap outlining it was cleaned and sanitized.. the room was clean and each bed had a single sleep pillow. Finally found the tea service in the pressboard wardrobe. Didn’t eat in the hotel: the menu was the usual: fish and chips, macaroni and cheese ect with some other Italian lasagna. And four curry dishes. My opinion- over priced for the accommodation.

“Easy parking, clean and warm. In other words its "OK"!”

Positives: Hotel looks striking from the outside, is a reasonable walking distance from the centre of Fort William and offers plently of parking (albeit some is not adjacent to the hotel itself). Otherwise the place is middle of the road "OK". Negs: Our twin room was a bit too small and its ensuit… more

Positives: Hotel looks striking from the outside, is a reasonable walking distance from the centre of Fort William and offers plently of parking (albeit some is not adjacent to the hotel itself). Otherwise the place is middle of the road "OK". Negs: Our twin room was a bit too small and its ensuite surprisingly lacked any towel rails or hooks which was a little inconvenient. The included breakfast was "Ok" but fairly uninspiring (only one egg option for example i.e. fried only one juice, i.e. orange!) The hotel staff were not unfriendly or impolite but didnt seem particularly engaged imo. Tbf hotel was clean and warm throughout but overall I suspect that there may be better local alternatives at the price, although that is not to say there was anything particularly wrong with the Cruachan. Its just"OK"!

Let’s start with the positives. The room was nice although the bedside light did not work so reading in bed was not possible Breakfast was plentiful being a buffet - but most of the options for cooked food were anything but hot - cold slimy fried eggs and wet soggy and cold mushrooms I am glad … more

Let’s start with the positives. The room was nice although the bedside light did not work so reading in bed was not possible Breakfast was plentiful being a buffet - but most of the options for cooked food were anything but hot - cold slimy fried eggs and wet soggy and cold mushrooms I am glad I chose to eat out in the evening if the standard of evening food was anything like the breakfast I went to the bar and had a pint of IPA. It tasted awful- like the pump cleaning fluid had not been pushed through the pipes enough Staff were also all overworked and stressed. I tried to tell the lady on the desk about the broken room ligh as I checked out (in a friendly way) but she basically just ignored me and told me to put my key card in the box without really paying any attention to the information I was giving her This hotel needs to take a long hard look at its product !
