The roads to get there were a little hairy but once you got there it was bliss. The boys enjoyed the golf, the girls enjoyed the spa and the children enjoyed the Sunday carvery. We signed up for the golf break that included a 3 course evening meal. It was good value although a bit slow. However, our server was very apologetic and to be fair the place was packed with a very big party and a function in one of the event rooms. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had for a while. Not for the choice but the quality of the food. The rooms were clean, spacious and appeared recently updated. Warning, the TV reception and wifi was terrible but thankfully we were hardly in our room anyway. The rooms are also not very soundproof, it sounded like there was a herd of elephants above us. However, we loved that each bedside had its own side table and usb plug sockets. In summary, a beautiful and friendly resort! The staff made the difference by keeping us informed, friendly, attentive and hard working.

“Returning Lodge Guests twice yearly !”

Exceptional staff , another fabulous break in the Lodges September 2024 and May 2024 before that. Thoroughly enjoyed and returning in 2025. Have been coming here since 2014 , shout out to Sandra,Michelle White and all the fab staff , lovely meal in Lakes restaurant and fabulous time in the SPA. … more

“Room Improvements Required”

Myself and my husband stayed for two nights as his company were having their annual Christmas dinner and dance here as had happened the previous year. Although we had originally booked just for one night, we decided to treat ourselves to another overnight stay prior to the Christmas event being held on the Friday, so we contacted the hotel within the next day and duly booked another night. When we turned up at reception at lunchtime on the Thursday our room was ready well in advance which was a great start. When we asked if we could stay in the same room for both nights we were informed that no, we would have to vacate our room on the Friday morning, bring our luggage down to reception and collect it once our next room was ready. The request was politely but firmly denied and not much of an explanation was given except that the room we were staying in for the first night was “allocated”. When we got to our room we were very underwhelmed as we were with the next room we occupied on the following day. Since we stayed here last year there has been a noticeable drop in standards as regards the tired state of the rooms. The furniture is scuffed, they no longer provide bottles of water, and there is an air of shabbiness that pervades the corridors. On the plus side, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean. We had full use of the spa facilities booked for a two hour time slot, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We lunched in the sports bar first and the food was really good, the staff excellent and the gluten free menu choices were amazing. Dinner in the restaurant that night was a quiet affair and again the service and food was fabulous, if a little expensive. On the whole, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the staff are certainly a class act, the food is quality but the rooms let it down.

“Very disappointing”

Nice hotel. Unfortunately few big issues Beds incredibly uncomfortable and poor pillows Zero WiFi - the worst WiFi of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The tv constantly buffers so can’t even watch that Trying to work here with WiFi pointless. Poor selection in the restaurant
