First time staying at The Savoy and we were thoroughly impressed. Obviously it a luxury hotel steeped in history so you expect the hotel to be beautiful but beyond that the staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The service was excellent. George on the concierge desk went the extra mile to help us enjoy the trip and his note congratulating us on our anniversary was obviously written specifically for us and very much appreciated. The staff are the face of the hotel and they’re an asset to it. Keep up the good work. I can’t fault the experience.

Well, how do I start, I have just had the most amazing few day's stay at the Savoy as a surprise for a special birthday and goodness me what a birthday I have had. My husband knew it had always been on my list of to do's and also booked afternoon tea as well. To be picked up and driven to Savoy in the Rolls Royce, felt like royalty, but sadly the day we arrived we were unable to drive down the front of the hotel to arrive in style by the fountain, due to roads being closed off, we had to get dropped off at the back entrance, but Tony was there to welcome us what an absolute charming gentleman. My goodness arriving at reception and the first thing you notice is the hotel exudes charm; the delightful colours of the orchids and floral arrangements were spectacular. We had 2 rooms booked and the room we had for my daughter and partner with my little granddaughter had everything they could need, the cot had beautiful savoy sheets and the little black cat in her cot she took an amazing shine too. My room had been decorated with ballons and a complimentary "Happy Birthday" chocolate slab. The bed was so comfortable, sheets divine and the bathroom gorgeous and just what you need long soak in the bath with Penhaligon’s gels. Breakfast was first rate, so much choice, waitresses very attentive but not obtrusive, set us up for the day. We had drinks in the American bar had some lovely cocktails before out visit to the Savoy Grill..... the meal was an inspiring experience. The "Arnold Bennett Souffle" and the " Beef Wellington” were simple stunning, the waiter (I am really sorry I forgot his name), treated my little 19 month old granddaughter with the most amazing friendly gesture, speaking to her direct, and her responding was very special to us. All the staff were lovely, but he went just went that extra mile, so thank you. The day of my birthday we all had "afternoon Tea" it was the most special experience one I shall not forget in a hurry. A cake with a candle was brought to me and my granddaughter had great delight blowing candle and eating the cake. I had a conversation in the lift with a gentleman who told me he visited every month to the Savoy, I told him it was a one off special treat, but perhaps I will take notice of his comments as he told me lifes to short, "come back and enjoy another weekend" was his answer , so lets say never never. All in all I have had the most magical, amazing birthday weekend, with the people that mean so much to me in my life, and to a hotel that I never thought I would get to visit, to be looked after by some of the most absorbing, charismatic delightful staff so a BIG THANK YOU to all at the SAVOY.

They were very attentive. It was such a wonderful afternoon. We then had cocktails in the American bar. The fantastic service continued there, too. We could have spent all evening there, relaxing and chatting, but we had theatre plans

“A wonderful afternoon high tea in the Gallery”

Coming back to the Gallery, a new vibrant space taking hints from the previous Thames Foyer, was a joyous event. It maintains the serenading pianist, now moved away from the central glass dome. Hints of the previous dance space are echoed in the paintings on the wall. The seats are comfortable, the ambience relaxed & most enjoyable. We had the most wonderful & attentive hostess, Ione. She was helped by Marcel. Both were engaging and seamless in their service. We did not need to ask for anything as she gave with an amazing smile. We started with finger sandwiches which were packed full of flavour. I had a cheeky second round because I couldn't resist the coronation chicken. This was followed by the hot course. We chose the scallops topped with Petrossian caviar. It was delicate, flavoursome & delicious. Our tier of sweets & scones were next, presented in a modern version of the pastry tier stand. The scones were light accompanied by jam, cream & lemon curd. A combination I had never tried & would highly recommend. The cakes & pastries were a delight & packed a punch in flavour. We tried various teas during the afternoon, all individual flavours, my favourite was the Red Dragon. A dark tea with a wholesome fresh taste. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & thank our hosts Ione, Marcel & the Gallery team as a whole. They made our day trip to London a very memorable one.

Popped into the Savoy for some Birthday drinks . It never fails to make you feel special. The opulence and the Decor are always top notch and the purple orchid display as you enter is stunning. I went to the American Bar and I mentioned to Rachel who attended to our table that it was My Birthday ? She was warm and welcoming in wishing me a very Happy Birthday and brought my some pink birthday bubbles curtosity of the Savoy. Rachel recognised my friend and i immediatley from a couple of other visits . Even down to where we Sat last time . Her attention to detail was second to none and she made us feel very welcomed and comfortable in the opulent surroundings . She was interested in how my celebrations were going, and was so lovely . Its such a nice change to get someone who really cares about the guests and The Savoy are very lucky to have her and she is one of the reasons that I will continue to go back to the Savoy as she made my Birthday Celebrations Fabulous . Thank you Rachel
