“Much Better Than 4 Stars”

We decided to treat ourselves to a couple of days in London in order to visit The Royal Albert Hall to enjoy the Barnardos concert which our granddaughter was singing in (one of 900 children!) The helpfulness of all the staff at The Gore was, without doubt, first class. The decoration was absolute… more

Nothing is too much trouble for the whole team at The Gore, greeted with a warm and genuine welcome, shown to the cutest single room which was immaculate and beautifully decorated and furnished. The team at breakfast worked so very hard, Saturday morning was a perfect breakfast after a late night… more

“Stylish hotel very close to the Albert Hall”

We had two nights here and really enjoyed it. I think it's probably the smartest hotel I've been in! You can literally walk to the Albert Hall or Kensington Gardens in 2 or 3 minutes so it's very conveniently located. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Special mention to the team ru… more

“The Gore comes through again!”

We couldn't remember if it was our third or fourth time staying in the Gore, but, as always, it was wonderful. If your hotel preference is one with 100 rooms that are all virtually the same-stay away from the Gore. It's odd, it's quirky, all the rooms are different and are Fabulous. We stayed in th… more

  • Guests at The Gore say: We decided to treat ourselves to a couple of days in London in order to visit The Royal Albert Hall to enjoy the Barnardos concert which our granddaughter was singing in (one of 900 children!) The helpfulness of all the staff at The Gore was, without doubt, first class. The decoration was absolutely in keeping with the age of the property. Our room was immaculately clean, very comfortable and the top quality bedlinen, lovely fluffy towels, Penhaligon toiletries, good hotel slippers and bathrobes a joy to use. Starting the day with a quality full English breakfast (cooked to order) good orange juice, good coffee, sourdough toast, fresh fruit salad, pastries, so much choice, all faultless and kind, helpful staff into the bargain. The hotel apparently, according to another regular guest, has the oldest hotel lift in London and that, I think, offers a clue as to why this lovely little hotel os only 4 stars, this single lift only goes as far as the 4th floor and the hotel has five floors, you have to walk up the last flight of stairs. The other slight difficulty is the time it took for the hot water to reach the fifth floor and last, but not least, the sound from a neighbouring room travelled to our room very easily, the first day we heard no noise from the neighbouring room, on our last night however, we were unlucky enough to have a very wordy man and a not so voluble female talking loudly from approximately 11.30pm until after 12.30 am. The following morning, when we went for breakfast at 9.30am there was a “Do Not Disturb” sign on their door! However, even with these problems, the hotel offered a great service and we would happily return, I’m missing my breakfast, beautifully cooked and served to me at my table so much, a trip to The Gore would be worth it just to have breakfast there, never mind all the other good reasons to visit.
