We had the pleasure of staying just prior to Christmas and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is perfectly situated and is a model of art deco elegance, complimented by attentive staff and exemplary facilities. From a well equipped gym to a host of eateries and within minutes of Bond Street, we wanted for nothing. Our gorgeous room had ample amenities and a wonderful view over Green Park with some of London's most notable landmarks on the horizon, all paired with a glorious bed that made rising a challenge. But, despite the home comforts, we stirred for breakfast each morning in Mercante which was our personal highlight, such was the variety and quality of food on offer. The perfect start to busy days exploring London. One special note of mention - and that's James in Mercante, a standout member of the Sheraton Grand team with his warmth, attentiveness and a genuine desire to go above and beyond. A real difference maker. Ultimately, we found the experience to be 'just right' and leaving was an absolute bind. Now to plan our return...

My wife and I (and our dog Ruby) had a wonderful stay at The Park Lane during the last holiday week of December. The room was comfortable, though the best aspect was the staff. As one can imagine, the hotel was busy, and the staff was hustling! Despite their business, they were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. To name just a few of the Allstars who made our visit memorable were Kibrom in the Club Lounge, who was so friendly and helpful; James in Mercant, who made breakfast enjoyable; and Giorgio, one of the Bell staff who was a lifesaver when we arrived with our dog and luggage in tow. Thanks to ALL the staff for welcoming us and Ruby as valued guests! See you again soon.

“Details are lacking for the discerning traveler”

As a Bonvoy Elite (I know it’s a pretty watered down program and everyone is elite now it seems) with over 100 nights a year at Marriott properties, I’ve stayed at the Sheraton London Park Lane a few times. While my shorter stays were pleasant, this week-long visit revealed issues that detracted from the experience. Check-In & Room: My requested Bonvoy NUA was denied while I was in the air, and my room was defaulted to the king superior that I booked. The check-in process was underwhelming, with no acknowledgment of Elite status or benefits. The first room I was assigned overlooked elevator mechanics and a moss-covered brick wall, despite my request for a decent view. It took over an hour and multiple conversations to resolve this; and a promised phone call from the manager the next day which never materialized until after check out. The replacement room was better with a courtyard area view on a higher floor, but still lacked 5 star luxury touches. The linens were clean but basic, with a firm mattress and no duvet, and the bathroom amenities (Gilchrist & Soames Warm Oak) felt generic for a property of this caliber. Housekeeping/Turndown: Housekeeping was inconsistent, with turndown service often missed or incomplete. Unlike other 5-star London hotels, there were no thoughtful extras like chocolates or activity notes, which diminished the experience further. Lounge: The lounge is tucked away on the main floor and is very congested. The service team was very friendly but understaffed. It took a lot of time for offerings to be refilled. Tables oftener were left for extended periods uncleaned. And the hours were terrible, closed at 9pm in the evening. Most lounges in London remain open until 10 or 11 in the evening with light grab and go snacks. If you get the lounge with status, it’s fine, but I don’t recommend paying extra. Positives: The location is excellent, just a short walk to the underground. The historic lobby is elegant, and the cozy lobby bar with its warm wood accents was a highlight. All the staff encountered (bell staff, housekeeping, lounge staff) were warm and friendly. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for the extra experience that comes with a 5-star hotel, you may be disappointed here. While I realize my expectations may be higher, I’m still rating this property a 5 and encourage you to read my review to decide if it’s the right fit for your stay. I also thank the front desk management for listen to my concerns upon check out and acting in a very appropriate and appreciative manner.
