Park Grand Kensington has a superb location. Very close to Earl´s court Tube Station and in walking distance to the big museums. The staff at the front desk are not the most welcoming I have met. They do their job and that´s it. The room was fine but could do with an upgrade if it should live up to Marriot standard. And the renovation has started on the second floor so there is hope. The lightning in the room is very cold and doesn't make the room feeling cozy. Lack of light near the wardrobe so it was very difficult to see anything. The beds are too soft but still give you a good night´s sleep. But I hope that more firm beds will come with the renovation. TV was impossible to watch. So poor quality of the signal. The breakfast is not overwhelming. The warm option is the best. Only one choice of yoghurt. The cheese was dry and was like eating rubber. Marmelade was of a very poor quality. Bread rools were rock hard and toast bread the cheapest quality. The staff in the breakfast restaurant should learn something about customer service. Never have I seen anything as lazy and unfriendly staff as this. I they want to reach Marriot standard they either have to train their staff or sack them and hire staff that know something about how to treat their customers. We stayed here last year and must say that the service has gone downhill in one year. I know it can be difficult to find qualified staff but still..... Will I stay here again? Probably yes, if they get the rooms renovated rapidly and they teach their staff how to deal with customers in a friendly and welcoming way.

Our Air B&B in the area was cancelled on us prior to our arrival in the London Earl's Court area, causing us to scramble a bit for replacement accommodations, so we opted for a Marriott property assuming Marriott quality. The property is conveniently located about 100 meters from the Earl's Court Tube stop, but the property is not what I would consider Marriott quality. When we checked in, we were assigned a room below the ground level, which was not serviced by an elevator. As my wife has mobility issues, this was not going to work for us, so we requested another room, but initially was told that the hotel was fully booked. Another staff member found us a room on the second floor, which was served by an elevator. I really don't understand how any hotel can gain a 4-star rating if they have rooms that are not served by an elevator and potentially have no windows? I also question the overall accessibility of this hotel to people who have mobility challenges. You need to go up at least 8 steps to get to the front lobby and I saw no other way to enter the hotel. So, if you have mobility issues, I would pass on this hotel and go elsewhere. There were other issues with our stay. I was never able to work out how the TV remote control worked (and I am an engineer). I got new batteries from the front desk for the remote, but that didn't solve the issue and we had to manually change the channels from the TV. I asked the front desk to have the issue checked out, but nothing was done. In addition, all of the overhead lights didn't work, but lights on either side of the bed did. Others have commented on the mildew smell in the front lobby and I would have to agree with them on this. It put us off a bit when we first came in the lobby. If you are looking for Marriott quality hotel, look elsewhere. I am not sure how they got an AA four-star listing.
