Just back from a weekend at the Marriott Canary Wharf and could not recommend it enough. We had a great stay, in a great waterfront room. The reception and door staff were very friendly and professional, and the small issue we had with a kettle sorted out very quickly. It’s in a great location and very handy for ABBA Voyage! Kudos to the concierge who when learning it was our anniversary organised some sweet treats and some fizz, it really made it a special weekend. We would definitely return.

Kritika, Sweeta and Divya, on the front desk, have great attention to detail and continue to provide exemplary service to guests. As a regular guest, they have each managed to resolve any issues with remarkable competence. Despite their exceptional effort, the overall experience of the hotel, for elite/loyalty members, is however diminshed by the limited space of the executive lounge. I hope management is looking at ways to resolve this and improve the overall experience of guests.

“Fine but no better than a budget hotel”

An average overall stay that didn’t really distinguish itself from a budget competitor. I stayed for three nights (Mon-Thu) in a deluxe twin. The good: -Very comfortable bed and pillows -Room size is very good -TVs had built-in Chromecast and web app allowing you to easily stream from phone; decent size screen, too -Great range of breakfast options -Mostly friendly staff The disappointing: -Fire alarm went off hotel-wide at 2:15am for 30+ seconds on the first night of my stay; called reception after not hearing anything for a few mins and they explained it was a false alarm -Reading light at bedside wasn’t working -Water pressure in shower was terrible, almost unusable; I was on 3rd floor and showered at 8am daily, colleague reported his water pressure on a higher floor was ok so your mileage may vary -My view was an internal courtyard that actually opened directly onto the glass above reception, so essential to have curtains and blinds closed at almost all times lest anyone in reception look up -AC worked great for two nights but seemed not to work anywhere near as effectively on the third night (outdoor temp was approx 15C each day so no reason for it to be less effective) -Toilet was very slow to flush and almost overflowed when flushing on occasion, seemed blocked -Coffee machine in room was very dusty both externally and internally, didn’t look clean -When I checked in, there was no remote control in my room; reception were sceptical and eventually reluctantly said they would bring one up. Maintenance guy brought one up and I asked if he would check I was correct; indeed, there wasn’t one hiding in any drawer or anything On paper it sounds as if the bad outweighs the good, but it wasn’t an appalling stay; I would expect better from Marriott, though.
