“A gem”
My husband and I stayed there in early Sept . 2019 for 5 nights .We loved this little jewel of a hotel in a prime location on High St. Kensington . My husband and I stayed there in early Sept . 2019 for 5 nights .We loved this little jewel of a hotel in a prime location on High St. Kensington . Five minute walk from the underground ( no lifts if you are carrying suitcases) . Hyde park is directly across the st. and Royal Albert hall is about a 10 minute walk . Many restaurants surrounding the hotel..The Spaghetti house was wonderful , The Goat pub , was rich in history and had an extensive menu , and there is even a restaurant in the tube station that was delicious . The entrance to The Seraphine is a small door way on High St Kensington , you really have to look for it . We google mapped it as we were coming in at night.The reviews are correct that the check in desk is up a narrow stairway, but we only found it inconvenient upon checking in and out . The room we were given was small and on the same floor as the check in desk / breakfast room . The ceilings in the room were high which made the room appear larger than it was . The bathroom was modern and clean : some grout around the shower walls appeared dirty , but on closer inspection it had just discolored . We did find that some light fixtures and curtain rods needed a good dusting , but other than that we were very pleased with the room . For an added bonus there was a kettle, mugs, coffee, tea for the taking , and cookies ( biscuits) were left each day to enjoy after a long day of sight seeing . The breakfast was basic ..hard boiled eggs, toast , muffins, cereal ,yogurt, juices and tea and coffee , and hot chocolate packets ..we never went hungry and it was a welcome start to our day . We would definitely stay here again

“Bad approach”
The two virtues were the good location and the bathroom that was modern. Otherwise the entrance was depressing, narrow and worn, and more appropriate to the cheapest bed-sit that one could imagine in the area. Carpet in the bedroom was also badly worn.
