I have been using this HIE for almost 10 years and have always found the hotel to be excellent value. The whole team are very helpful and welcoming. Many of the team have been there as long as I have been going! Great place to stay, convenient too.

LOCATION The hotel is conveniently situated near Wandsworth Town train station, providing easy access to Waterloo and Clapham Junction stations. Regular bus services are available in the vicinity, and a well-stocked M & S Food Market at the BP service station is located next door. ROOM I stayed in room 709 on the 7th floor, which was spacious and comfortable. While the room lacked drawers, it had a few shelves and a couch under the window. The desk was decent for working, with two handy power points close enough to be able to charge your devices while working. However, the room's lighting was inadequate, making it challenging to watch TV or read at night, and the TV itself was way too small for the room's size, further compounding the issue. The room offered nice views of the streetscape and glimpses of the river in the distance. The room had nice views of the streetscape outside and river glimpses in the distance. Being on the 7th floor it was super quiet. I heard no noise either from outside or from within the hotel, and slept well every night. BATHROOM The bathroom was quite an adequate size, with a shelf for storage but no vanity. The water pressure in the sink and shower was weak, and adjusting the temperature took some time to figure out. However, the shower featured a useful rail to prevent slipping, which is a great safety feature, especially for older travellers. The toilet had an old-fashioned flushing lever, suggesting the hotel's age. The bathroom door design was unique, with a solid locking wooden door serving as the entrance to both the bathroom or alternatively, the toilet cubicle. While this design may have been intended for privacy when sharing a room, it felt somewhat odd. AMENITIES & SERVICE - The internet was free, fast, and reliable. - The lifts were old and creaky but safe and functional, with two elevators ensuring minimal wait times. - The common areas were all clean and well-maintained. - My room was cleaned daily to a high standard, with fresh towels, toiletries, milk, and tea/coffee sachets provided. - The complimentary breakfast was a significant bonus, although it could get crowded, especially on weekends. STAFF The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. They accommodated my request for a late checkout on the day of my departure without hesitation, which was appreciated given my evening flight. SUMMARY Overall, my short stay at the Holiday Inn Express Wandsworth was satisfactory. While the room was dated, it was large, comfortable and quiet. The staff's excellent service, cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities contributed to a pleasant experience. The main drawbacks were the inadequate lighting, weak shower water pressure, and lack of drawers in the room. Nevertheless, considering the complimentary breakfast, I would be happy to stay at this hotel again.
