Nice clean hotel near Victoria station. Staff very friendly, room clean and pleasant. Staff helpful. Breakfast was included and enough for a great start, breakfast staff excellent. Good value for the area and we would return for sure. Great location.

“Basic hotel in great location”

Some nights this hotel can ask >£250/night, on others it is <£150/night. On the cheaper nights it is value for money for London Zone1. The proximity to Victoria, the underground and the Tate make it a good base for exploring London. The limited staff are always courteous and helpful, but at busy times the queues for check-in can be long.

Pros: we found the staff to be great. The breakfast ladies were especially great. The croissants are freshly made each morning and should not be missed. Location is very good. Underground and bus stops are very close and you can get anywhere you need to, most of the time without a transfer. Neighborhood is quite safe. Cons: if you are more than two people and you have to use the pull-out couch/chair, be warned. Those rickety old things MUST be replaced. The pull-out in our room kept the mattress (if you can call it that) at an angle so that the head was below the feet. The metal bars poked and prodded throughout the night. It is unconscionable that HIE would allow people to sleep on it. It all but guarantees a less-than-stellar review for this property. The mattresses on the queen bed are hard rather than firm. I like firm, but not hard. It's like sleeping in a concrete slab. It also sags. Finally, the carpet in our room was absolutely filthy. I don't really care about that sort of thing, but bring slippers. It's pretty nasty. We stayed here for multiple nights, but wouldn't do so again. While we enjoyed the staff and location, however the accommodations are subpar--in particular the fold-out couch.
