The hotel is very well positioned in a very beautiful part of Richmond. The views from that side of Richmond are exquisite. The common is right there where you can go for lovely walks or cycles. There is a path parallel to the river which you can walk along to many restaurants and pubs. The hotel is a boutique style property, the decor is lovely and the hotel has a very warm feeling about it. The restaurant is well appointed however we unfortunately had terrible service on two occassions. The staff were very rude and disinterested in what they were doing. The hotel has the most wonderful spa, with a heated pool, sauna, steam room and outside hydro facilities, very nicely done. There is also a spa and gym. The room was comfortable with all the basic amnenities however the service was lacking a bit, like they forgot to give us towels and coffee the second day. But all in all a very comfortable stay. The location is great.

We stayed two nights whilst attending a wedding locally. Our first impression was very good - the public areas are beautifully and tastefully decorated with many interesting pieces of art and design to catch the eye. As many reviews have noted, parking in the hotel car park can be a challenge, but we were very impressed with the tenacity and understanding of one member of staff who managed to find a very suitable space for my husband's pride and joy! Reception staff were equally pleasant and welcoming. Our room was at the top of the building but unfortunately just had views of neighbouring buildings. It was very well equipped, stylishly appointed and whilst it was clean, there were a number of minor points that let it down - scuff marks on the wall, black marks in the bathroom sealant, not something we would have expected in a hotel of this calibre. The inclusion of a carafe of gin in our room was novel, but we had to return to the bar to fetch ice and a slice! We only used the restaurant for breakfast on the two mornings of our stay and our experience was at opposite ends of the scale; on the first day, we had to chase and badger staff as it took so long for our cooked breakfast to reach us with no one seeming to care; on the second morning, service was pleasant and exemplary. However, from a food perspective both the cooked and buffet breakfast selection were great. The hotel is in a great location on Richmond Hill with the famous views over the river Thames a short stroll away and easy access to the park and town centre. Whilst we enjoyed our stay it did come at a very hefty price tag and based on our experience, there are a number of points that need to be improved to warrant that level of expenditure and expectation.

“Not the greatest experience ”

I stayed here as part of a work conference. On arrival the hotel looked great and I was excited to stay. However the hotel asked me to pay a £50 deposit when my work was paying for the room. I stayed here as part of a work conference. On arrival the hotel looked great and I was excited to stay. However the hotel asked me to pay a £50 deposit when my work was paying for the room. I think this should have been sorted with my company not me! So I did put down my credit card details. However some other colleagues did not so they should have kept this a standard either made us all do it or none of us. The hotel did not even have my name registered so I had to then fill out a form, prolonging my check in. The room itself was spacious and the bed was huge and very comfortable, hence the 3 stars. However my tv remote on/off button was not working , I called reception to come and see what they can do. I went out and returned to the tv on and no change of remote so I was unable to turn the tv off, I had to put it on sleep mode!! Also there is a number of teas and coffee available in the room but no milk?? I expect that in Europe but not in the UK! Please put some milk in the rooms! The shower was also really big and great pressure. Breakfast was included in my stay and I had a beautiful ricotta and spinach souffle omelette. The cappuccino was also frothy and yummy. The fresh fruit and pastries were also really nice. It's a shame the little issues I experienced otherwise this hotel is really nice. Richmond park is not far and the view from the hill is amazing.
