“Convenient location”

This hotel can be a good alternative if you cannot afford the larger Renaissance Hotel at Saint Pancras. The great Northern is still a high-end place, but not quite as expensive. The location is perfect if you want to shop at Saint Pancras station and or if you have a train connection.

I arrived in Gatwick took a train directly to St Pancras walked across the street and my room was ready, prefect. After a few nights in London I walked downstairs turned a corner and took a train north from King’s Cross, excellent. Every night I found a yummy chocolate and a nice glass bottle of water in the room. At the end of the corridor was a pantry with full tea and coffee making facilities and a little snack or two. Staff were welcoming. Rooms are historical but with a contemporary design, I was extremely comfortable. Sure with a historical building the bathrooms won’t be huge but I was surprised to find a fantastic rainfall shower in addition to a smaller hand held option (ladies no easy bar to shave your legs). While this hotel is between two extremely busy train stations, the hotel was much quieter than I thought it would be, light sleepers might struggle but that’s London and historical hotels. I did have sticker shock from the price but it wasn’t the most expensive in the area and with heavy luggage, travelling solo I came away pleased with my choice. Wish I’d had time to try the bar and restaurant. I suffer with allergies and found I was stuffy in the mornings but I find this happens it most older hotels, the pros out weighed this me problem.

This is a very convenient hotel. Next to one of the main train and underground stations. I was in the hotel a couple of minutes after exiting my train. Then again on my return, it took me only a few minutes to be at the station waiting for my train home. The service is good however my last few visits I have had to wait for my room to be ready which is frustrating. The rooms are always clean and gorgeous. Personally, I could do with Marriott hotels having softer beds and harder pillows but otherwise the rooms are perfect. Even the couchette I had on my trip down was perfect for me on my own. The only thing I would suggest to travellers is save some money and eat elsewhere. There are so many options near by. Although I do appreciate the pantry on each floor with nibbles and hot drinks! Thanks for another lovely visit!

This is a great property if you can get the room rate in the 200-300 range. Lovely rooms in a confusing layout, it is convenient across the street from the train station and underground. Breakfast is order from the menu. There are two bars on site which are also attractive. My only complaint is they don’t serve breakfast until eight on Sunday when every other day is seven. We had an early train and were disappointed with the quirky schedule. Perfect for onward travel and the King’s Cross neighborhood is riddled with great pubs. Perfect area to relax.

Not much in terms of value. Service was mediocre, having to wait for a room to be ready. I never accept offers of being contacted when the room becomes ready. Invariably the staff are so distracted they usually fail to follow up. They're mantra is out of sight, out of mind. I booked a "Victorian, Larger Guest Room, 1 King." The room layout is very cramped. Please refer to the included pictures. Mainly, access to the bathroom is an ~ 2-foot aisle on the left side of the bed. The aisle is completely cut off when the doors are ajar. There is only a deep tub and a handheld shower. Nothing to protect the splashes from wetting the surroundings and the bathmat, if you're not careful. I found the settee at the foot of the bed uncomfortable to sit in. It appears that you might be able to use the window ledges as places to store things, but they're all sealed with another ĺpane to insulate the room from the outside noises. The room is actually very quiet. Other cons: a) power points are awkwardly located with minimal surfaces to hold the devices being charged; b) tiny TV, I didn't bother to use it; c) did I mention a lack of surfaces to place items on? The pluses: a) there is a coat closet with a safe, an umbrella, some shelves, and a mini-fridge; b) a Nespresso machine; c) stable and fast Wi-Fi. I chose this hotel because I had the Bonvoy points to redeem, its proximity to the Eurostar trains at St. Pancras Station, and curiosity. In conclusion, although it's convenient for a Eurostar trip (departures and arrivals) a stay here is of relatively poor value. The cramped conditions make it unbearable for stays longer than overnight and the high price point for a room makes any stay here a poor value. You would be better off at nearby moderately priced hotels too numerous to mention. However if you still want a comparably priced but roomier hotel, I would recommend the Pullman, just a couple of blocks away on Euston Street.
