Very pleasant, comfortable stay. The reception and all hotel staff were polite and beyond helpful. Hotel was clean with nice decor. The rooms were big, beds and linen were comfortable, clean and had a great nights sleep. Location was lovely in a nice quiet location and Russell Square garden right next by. Camden is a 35 minute walk or £12 for a Uber. Would not hesitate to stay again.

We were looking for a hotel near family in south east London, so we could spend the days with them over Christmas. We wanted a real hotel experience, not a modern block in a busy street. The Clarendon looked right from the photos and position on the map and it proved to be just right. Quite a reasonable price for that busy time of year, what I'd call slightly old fashioned in all the right ways. We loved the position right on the heath and an easy walk into Blackheath village with its independent shops and long history. Some disadvantages, not the most modern and we never did find the lift. We liked the elegant dining room, very pleasant. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Visited for 1 night as a solo trip. Room was spacious & clean. I had room 7 which is the lower floor (basement level) - I had windows looking up to the pavement. It wasn’t too noisy considering it was a Saturday night. Lift to get down to lower ground which is useful with a case & bag. The TV in my room didn’t work but admittedly I didn’t tell reception about this as it might have just been me & I had my laptop anyway to watch tv on. I didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on this. Would use again for a nights stay.
