“Charming and very British”
Second time staying at The Durrants. What a charm nestled down a side road off a beautiful shopping street just a walk further down and you’ll hit Oxford St. The hotel is everything British, The Queens Commonwealth speeches on loop in the ladies…Winston Churchill in the gents. Second time staying at The Durrants. What a charm nestled down a side road off a beautiful shopping street just a walk further down and you’ll hit Oxford St. The hotel is everything British, The Queens Commonwealth speeches on loop in the ladies…Winston Churchill in the gents. The rooms are on the smaller side but comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a short break. Exceptionally clean and the staff are professional and polite. A nightcap in the hotel bar in front of the open fire is a perfect way to end the day. A truly special hotel which I hope to return to time and time again.

The food in Durrants is just delicious. The new chef has certainly made his mark in this wonderful, welcoming hotel. We stay here on a regular basis and are so pleased that the restaurant is now open in the evenings again, as well as for lunch and afternoon tea. The food is really delicious and is clearly made with fresh ingredients, masterfully prepared to perfection and served beautifully by the attentive, friendly head waiter and staff. We spoke to the chef one evening, he was caring and conscientious and so smart in his white uniform. The surroundings in the restaurant are elegant and inviting with wood panelling and glorious glass wall lights. The restaurant's, as with the rest of the hotel's, attention to detail add to this wonderful experience. We will certainly visit the restaurant again in the evening as well as the oak panelled bar for sandwiches and snacks which again are of the highest quality.

“A lovely quiet traditional hotel”
When in London we always stop at The Durrants Hotel, a lovely traditional hotel ideally based for work and relaxing, the breakfast are always high quality and friendly staff. We had an evening meal with them this time and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet ambience.

“Not my best stay”
I have stayed here many times in the past and have always enjoyed the experience. Sadly on this occasion I was left disappointed. I have stayed here many times in the past and have always enjoyed the experience. Sadly on this occasion I was left disappointed. But let me start by saying that the hotel still retains much of its historic charm and character that draws me back. And the staff are excellent. What let it down this time was the standard of my room. To be more specific the poor quality of some of the furnishings and in particular the curtains. It is no exaggeration to say that they were thread bare in places. I took photographs and shared these with the staff on reception when I left. I believe that the senior management of the hotel would be embarrassed to be confronted with what I saw. It is so far below the high standards the hotel sets for itself. I will return as the hotel has so much to commend it, but I will need to be assured that my room has been refurbished to an acceptable level
