There is no doubt that this accommodation is well located for all areas of London. It’s main attraction apart from the location is that it is self catering. There is a small kitchen and a supermarket nearby which allows you to cook simple fare and save a few pounds along the way. The criticism is that the room we stayed in on the top floor was looking a little tired and battered (we stayed here at the beginning of 2019 so this was our second stay in 2024). The decor could do with refreshment and refurbishment as the tables had been chipped and the walls scraped. There is a little flexibility to change rooms as this accommodation is popular.

Great position as you can walk to everything. Nice touch having a free coffee machine with real beans in the foyer for guests use. Great position as you can walk to everything. Nice touch having a free coffee machine with real beans in the foyer for guests use. I think the beds need attention as springs pushing in your back is not pleasant. If you had proper mattresses here this would make it very comfortable. We have a 1 bedroom suite abd plenty of room but again the pull out in the lounge is horrible to sleep on as not comfortable at all, bad.

I debated giving the hotel 2 stars and decided to be a bit nicer. I would never stay here again. The only thing going for it was the location because you could really walk to a lot of things or catch several Underground lines or Uber boats in easy walking distance. We had a 2 bedroom unit. The hotel itself was careworn. There were scuffs on the wall behind the check in desk which is never a good look. The cleaners were probably not given the necessary time to really service the units. The basics were clean (toilet, sinks, bedding) but the extra cleaning was definitely not a priority. Dirty walls (especially off-putting in the bathroom), chipped paint, air filters that looked like they had never been changed (the one over the stove was thick with so much dust!) and stains on the floor in multiple places. I would fault management for not prioritizing the upkeep; the cleaners likely do the best they can with their time and resources. We had just come from 2 5 star hotels so I know our standards are higher than the average customer. But, there is no reason for a cheaper hotel not to strive to offer a quality product. For US guests, I expected Citadines to be on par with a Homewood Suites and it was not. The lobby was often very chaotic. The front desk staff was a mixed bag- 1 very unhelpful attendant, 2 so-so and 1 really good. If we hadn't a 2 bedroom, I would have gone crazy with the hallway noise. It was so loud in the living area with doors and people talking. Luckily, the bedrooms were upstairs and quiet re. hall noise. However, we were on the top floor and there was a door that opened to very loud mechanics (I assume- the door wasn't able to be opened except in an emergency). Street noise was loud but that was to be expected for the location. It was fine when the windows were closed but ventilation was pretty terrible in the master bedroom. One major pet peeve was that there was no toilet on the bedroom level. The tub/shower and a sink were upstairs but you had to navigate the miserable spiral staircase to get to the toilet if you were upstairs. The refrigerator temperature may have needed to be readjusted- check if you do book here. It was too warm. If I were in London again and needed the extra space, I would 100% look for a short term rental vs staying here again. The price was way too high for the quality offered.
