“Quiet, clean and friendly cheap hotel in a good area of London”

This is a lovely little hotel on a quiet street (for London!) in a very expensive area. The rooms are small (quite big for London!) but clean and well thought-out. Though their decor could use a bit of an update, they’ve nonetheless made the place quite pretty with a flower-and-plants theme. There was just one person in the office while I was there and she was friendly and helpful - though I didn’t need much help. Couple of things to mention: * the windows are not double-glazed, though the street was quite quiet * the firm pillow was really firm and good for side sleepers, and the bed was quite comfortable * as is common with old buildings, the floorboards were a bit creaky so I had to be careful not to make too much noise early in the morning * the bed seemed to have fresh clean sheets wrapped around the duvet in place of a clean duvet cover, though I’m not sure. It may have just been that they were protecting the less-tough duvet cover from wear. The sheet was thick cotton and obviously clean, folded over the top of the duvet about 3ft deep, so it was fine to sleep in. This is a very very wealthy area of London. The area is beautifully clean and full of Porches. I suspect the surrounding hotels were wayyy over-budget for me! But, the benefit is that it is quiet and litter-free and within a fit person’s walking distance of nearly every important London location, with excellent public transport connections. This hotel is really good value.

“Budget hotel which is good value and in good location ”

Budget hotel providing good value, good location and helpful service. Room small but bed comfortable and shower room clean and everything worked well. Near Victoria station and good range of cafes, pubs and restaurants within a short walk.

This was a very affordable and convenient hotel for my recent quick trip to London. I wanted to be within walking distance to Buckingham Palace, and hotels in that vicinity were either too expensive or already booked full. The hotel was just one block from the Victoria subway line, and the Pimlico neighborhood is quite safe and quiet. I had dinner at an excellent Georgian restaurant, called Iberia, nearby, and a round of drinks at a pub called the White Swan. I had a great English Breakfast, fresh-squeezed OJ and coffee at a nearby restaurant called the Tachbrook Bakery. The hotel itself is one of those many converted from a long row of three-story apartments. On the same street were a Best Western and a Holiday Inn Express of the same stock. I had a third-floor room -- maybe too many stairs for some -- but I was fine with it and I had a nice big window overlooking the street out front. Luckily the temperature was about 70, and I could get by with an open window and the portable electric fan. Otherwise it could have been uncomfortable without AC. The bed was comfortable and the shower was fine. I didn't have a hair dryer in my room.
