“Great hotel ”
We arrived around 11.15 obviously we knew check in was 2pm but the manager gave us a permit for our car so we could venture out till 2pm. We booked one single and one double bed as that's what it showed when we booked so that meant the 2 boys would share a bed and me n my husband in the double bed … more
We arrived around 11.15 obviously we knew check in was 2pm but the manager gave us a permit for our car so we could venture out till 2pm. We booked one single and one double bed as that's what it showed when we booked so that meant the 2 boys would share a bed and me n my husband in the double bed when we went back at 2pm to check in the manger said we have upgraded you to the family room with 2 single beds and a double perfect. The room was nice. The breakfast was lovely cereals toast and jam full English tea coffee and fresh juices the lady was lovely always had a smile and talked very friendly lady nothing too much trouble. If ever we went back to London would definitely book her again. Great location close to everything within walking distance

“Cosy, comfy and cheap but definite room for improvement ”

We booked for this hotel but actually stayed three doors down at the Kingsway, it appears both properties are joint managed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I've listed pros and cons because we're pretty laid back travellers so found it absolutely fine, but others my be bothered by aspects of our stay. Pros: the room was warm and cosy, with a working fan in case we got too warm. Beds were comfy, and the double we booked was actually king-sized which was appreciated. Large telly with Netflix. Adequate tea and coffee facilities and plenty of space. An absolutely amazing location, and parking (£15 per day, cash only) available directly outside. Bathroom was small but we found it fine, my 6 ft 4 partner could comfortably fit in the shower. Cons: free breakfast was a bit bizarre and my partner found a piece of cloth cooked into his bacon (pictured) 😂. Also, absolutely no gluten free options and the kitchen will definitely cross-contaminate food as there is no room for separate cooking areas. We had a room on the third floor, the stairs were very steep with no lift available, so not very accessible. The furniture was worn (and the desk was literally falling apart). The fire escape was well sign posted but blocked by a travel cot. Overall we had a comfortable, happy stay and couldn't fault it for price compared to competitors nearby, but there are things that you may not find to your taste!
