“Lovely breakfast”

We came across this place whilst strolling around Edinburgh and decided to stop for breakfast. We were served quickly, the staff were friendly and our food was delicious. The price was fair for a city centre location and although it was quiet at the time, there was a nice atmosphere.

“Great place”

Had the best service staff. Lovely waitress. Also the waiter Maan is very personable, and Cody does great bar. They are all underpaid and deserve a pay rise. Nice clean toilet. Great atmosphere and music as well. Because I need 200 characters I had to write this last bit

“Cute but ££”

Didn’t stay but lovely bar with nice but small beer garden and cute interior. Pricey but expected based on the location! I would recommend for people coming to edi just make sure to have a pint sure anything else would be ££££ - nice staff and very clean

“Do not recommend this hotel.”

This is the first review I have done on a hotel, but feel this is a needed review as there were many issues. We stayed for 8 nights in May 2024. I booked our room for the day before we arrived so we could get in the room very early morning on the day of our arrival. I notified the hotel of this. The hotel door was locked when we arrived, luckily there was a nightman in the hotel and he let us in, but no one was at the desk to check us in. After awhile the front desk person arrived and told us they considered us a "no show" because we didn't arrive by midnight. The desk man was panicked because they had no room for us now. He told us we might have to move to one of their partner hotels! After a good 20 minutes and a few phone calls a room was suddenly available. I had booked the largest and most expensive category room. When we got to our room, it was noticeably smaller than the photos on the website and the fire escape diagram on the back of the door showed our room as much smaller than the other three on the floor. I have read other reviews and this seems to be a theme. Book the large room and get assigned smaller one! When our friends (booked the same category of room) checked in two days after us we saw their room and were taken aback as their room was massive compared to ours. I brought this to the attention of the hotel and there was really no response to explain the difference. Our bathroom was supposed to be very large and have a free standing tub. It was neither. The shower had mildew all around it and the grout between the tiles was gone. Quite gross. The pillows were flat and super hard, the same as the mattress. For the price this hotel charges, this is unacceptable. The location of the hotel is good, but very noisy! People partying outside the hotel until 3am most evenings. A group of street people hung out every night outside our windows and were loud! The hotel has no elevator......the stairs are brutal. Would not recommend this property, there are many other great hotels in Edinburgh to choose from.
