“Beautiful historical hotel.”

Beautiful old hotel with lots of history. The rooms are very elegant and comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet location. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Close to restaurants and shopping. Close to the main train station. Enjoyed our stay here.

We chose this hotel based on its location, just a five minute walk away from Waverley station. It's a hidden gem, as its tucked away around the corner in a quiet location. We loved the character of this hotel, it's warm and cosy, in pristeen condition. Rooms were large and had everything we needed.… more

We chose this hotel based on its location, just a five minute walk away from Waverley station. It's a hidden gem, as its tucked away around the corner in a quiet location. We loved the character of this hotel, it's warm and cosy, in pristeen condition. Rooms were large and had everything we needed. Staff very welcoming and we could leave our luggage on check out, allowing us to do some additional sightseeing. Small bar area in reception, we didn't opt for breakfast, as £18.50 a tad expensive, albeit a little less expensive if booked in advance. Overall we enjoyed our stay with zero complaints

“Decent hotel but not perfect”

Perfect central location. Hotel nice and warm, reception area homely and bedrooms pleasant. Bathroom was modern and plenty hot water. The downside was the hotel doesn’t have a ‘real’ bar area, rather, reception doubles up as a bar area. The fire was nice and cosy and the Christmas tree was lovely.… more

Perfect central location. Hotel nice and warm, reception area homely and bedrooms pleasant. Bathroom was modern and plenty hot water. The downside was the hotel doesn’t have a ‘real’ bar area, rather, reception doubles up as a bar area. The fire was nice and cosy and the Christmas tree was lovely. We were disappointed that they wanted £18.50 per person for breakfast, so we didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, as this seemed a bit expensive! The tv in the room was tiny, but didn’t really bother us as we weren’t in the room long. Also disappointed the restaurant MPs Bistro seems to have closed, we used to frequent the restaurant years ago and the food was always good. Only other negatives were the blind in our bathroom seemed to be broken and there was a hair in the bath. All in all a pleasant stay though.

“Nice hotel, centrally located”

Quite centrally located, just 10/15 minute walk from Waverley station, however if you have difficulty walking or climbing stairs/ cobbled streets I would pick somewhere else just incase. Quite centrally located, just 10/15 minute walk from Waverley station, however if you have difficulty walking or climbing stairs/ cobbled streets I would pick somewhere else just incase. There are stairs to room, I did not see a lift but apparently there is one. The lobby is lovely, nice colour scheme carpet and chairs etc,. The room was old fashioned but perfectly clean and quite big. The gentleman checking us in was far from friendly which is why I removed a star.
