I was recommended the Kimpton Charlotte Square hotel by a friend and I am so grateful of the recommendation. I managed a corporate group booking for 32 guests in December - this booking was managed by Oksana in Events who was absolutely brilliant. She deserves a raise! The group stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the breakfast each morning. On one of our evenings we used their fabulous Cellar space for a banquet event which was absolutely brilliant - this banquet dinner was a real highlight of our experience in Edinburgh. Oksana worked with us to understand my vision and ensured the team delivered it. We had the best time and there has been so much positive feedback on the hotel - the breakfast, the housekeeping and the front of house staff are all top notch.Zoe in front desk was also exceptional. Thank you for taking such good care of us and a special thanks to Oksana! We hope to be back in some capacity in the future :)

If you're looking for an exceptional hotel in an equally exceptional location in Edinburgh look no further. A short walk to everywhere you could want to visit in Edinburgh. Celebrating my partner Charlotte's(!) 40th for a few days, we can't rate this masterclass of a hotel highly enough. This opinion comes from 2 people working in the events industry so experience the very best and sometimes the worst hotels worldwide. From the initial welcome, the very clean and cosy atmosphere, wonderful amenities and extremely high standard of accommodation, to the fantastic service and friendliness of the entire team (reception, concierge, bar staff, breakfast staff) the Kimpton has provided us with one of our most favourite breaks away ever. The warm and friendly service provided that of a small boutique hotel, smiles and warm welcomes at any point throughout the hotel. To say you feel welcomed as a valued guest quickly became more of a feeling of 'coming home' after some daily chilly walks around Edinburgh and one climb up to Arthur's Seat! Breakfast was plentiful and of a fantastic standard, complimented by the super friendly staff that couldn't do enough for you and likewise the 'happy hours' between 5pm and 6pm with a range of complimentary drinks in the beautiful bar area were made even more enjoyable by the wonderful bar staff. The most sincere thanks to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We already can't wait to return and will certainly be recommending you to any family and friends that we know are visiting your fantastic city.

“Lovely”

Such an amazing stay. I was there with my boyfriend after a work trip. Staff was so friendly, we were within walking distance to Old Town, and we really enjoyed the bar/restaurants on site. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again.

Stayed at the hotel for one night. The valet parking service was very convenient and the information for arrival and departure excellent. Our IHG rewards level was mentioned at check-in however we seem to be downgraded rather than upgraded. We did not accept the first courtyard facing room as we had reserved a “New Town View”room. We were upgraded without fuss, however it left wondering why that was not done on check in. We only had breakfast so cannot comment on the evening or lunch dining. The service in the bar as excellent and the staff had a good knowledge of whisky choices. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection of products on the buffet although a few more options for delivery to the table would have been helpful. The final selection on was a junior suite. De cor a little austere but the room as large with views across the square. Bathroom was bijou but did have bath and an over bath shower.
