Location- The location is great. Not too far from the city centre. There is a bus stop outside of the hotel and this is the cheapest and best way to travel. It cost a total of £9.50 for return bus tickets for the two of us which is great value. A taxi ride from the hotel to the centre is around the same price one-way. Parking- the hotel does provide parking but you must pay for this. The hotel provides a discount code so it worked out at around £5 per day which was not too bad. Room- the room was a nice size and had all the facilities you could need (iron, ironing board etc) however the decor was a bit dated. The bathroom was also a bit dated and the paint job was very tired. I was pleasantly surprised that we have a good size shampoo and body gel provided, very impressed. Our view meant was great and we could quite clearly see Edinburgh Castle from our bed. Cleanliness- the room was very clean on arrival and was cleaned daily. The towels were also replaced daily. Very impressed! Breakfast-the vegetarian options are very limited. You get eggs, beans, tomatoes and hashbrowns however they were cooked very poorly. It really was pot luck if they would be cooked nicely or not. Only on one day did the hashbrowns and tomatoes not taste like they had been sat outside for a long time or over cooked. There are lots of lovely cafes you can have a more substantial breakfast at so it was not too much of an issue. Sleep- bed was felt a little snug and I did not find it particularly comfortable. I did not raise this as an issue with the staff as we had lots of early mornimg starts, so I cannot say if it would have been different if I changed rooms. Staff-reception staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. Nothing seemed too much for them to help with and I found every staff member I encountered to be very pleasant, polite and helpful. Price-I do believe the rooms are fairly priced and worth it. Overall I was happy with my experience and will absolutely come back again in the future.

We had several rooms in our group... one side of the hotel has an impressive view of Edinburgh paired with tired old bathrooms, the other side doesn't have a view and is twinned with a fresh modern bathroom. The pillows are huge, make of that what you will. Mattress was fine. The room itself was quite dusty though (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO). I also found the previous occupants grotty hairband under the chair. I stayed on a Monday and a Tuesday but was still woken up at 2am by some incredibly plastered men arriving back and continuing on their riveting conversation in the corridor. The breakfast is fine... there is something for everyone, cereal, croissants, muffins, hash browns, beans, sausages, bacon etc. The sausages are reasonable quality too. I arrived in the evening after a long journey and ordered some mussels with chips (it's Scotland, I thought they'd be really good)... they weren't. Rubbery, hard and overcooked which was disappointing. A real Hit and Miss experience.

Good location 30min walk into the city, £9 Uber. Room clean small rooms, bed comfortable. Staff are friendly. Breakfast poor, no forks out had to wait for them as well as waiting for the food to be topped up. The orange juice was watered down tasted disgusting. Not the hotel faults but some families on the floor we were on must all be together let the children run up and down the corridors both mornings at 7am, this morning they decided to sing happy birthday on the corridors at 7.10! Would stay again but wouldn’t have breakfast there
