“Cute and close to everything”
Nice little hotel. Worked great for us visiting the Royal Mile and other popular spots in the downtown area as well as the train terminal. We walked pretty much everywhere. Staff were lovely. Do recommend bringing your own soap/shampoos as there wasn't really anything in the shower.

“Comfortable and friendly stay a short distance from city center”
Comfortable and friendly hotel a short walk from the bustle of the city center. Staff was friendly and super helpful with carrying bags, helping with directions and taxis, and breakfast was solid. The room was cozy with a nice view making a great stay for our short visit to Edinburgh.

“Great location, excellent staff”
Our stay at the Thistle hotel was great. The staff were friendly, the room itself was great, and the location was perfect. The hotel is older and as such we didn’t expect a modern five star accommodation, so we were satisfied. Our room was bright and had a cute courtyard view, and the window shut... more

“Nice “old” Hotel, but needs some maintenance.”
Nice “old” hotel although in need of some upgrades. Maintenance should be taken into consideration as spigot in bathroom was very loose, toilet didn’t fill, light fixtures all loose in bedroom area, etc. A little TLC would be good. Also, need to be mindful of folks with medical issues. Needed ... more
