After a long flight, we were greeted warmly by the hotel doorman and receptionist. This was a preview to the rest of our stay at the hotel. The room was perfectly appointed with everything we have come to expect from a Marriott property. As a little bonus, we indulged in the M Club access that we used each morning and on occasion in the evenings to track Hurricane Milton as it barreled towards our home. The location offered the opportunity to traverse the Royal Mile beginning at the base by the Holyrood Palace and Park. This hotel should be considered if you visit Edinburgh.

Could not fault our room. We booked during a sale and got the room on a decent price which has fulfilled all expectations. However we did not enjoy the "spa" experience. When you pay £60 for a "spa", you imagine a private pool, a jacuzzi, perhaps a steam room - definitely more than just a small sauna and an open pool which comes free with the hotel stay anyway. We weren't able to have our treatments at the same time, which is okay, but that meant we had to use the 'relaxation room' separately. I wouldn't have minded this so much if a man hadn't also been shown in the room and subsequently talk to me about being drunk - making me the opposite of relaxed. The massage itself was okay. I am plus size, and it mainly felt like she was rubbing the fat around rather than the actual muscle. Even as I was having the treatment, I thought it was just like how my boyfriend could rub my back at home for free. However, my boyfriend is smaller than me and said his was extremely good, so I imagine it is a size-thing rather than actual ability.

Could not really fault this overnight stay The hotel is clean/tidy The valet parking for £25 was worth it they take your car at the door and drop it back off at check out The room was clean with a comfy bed and a powerful shower A mini fridge water and toiletries are provided Used the pool/sauna good facilities Breakfast was tasty the staff were pleasant Location was ok 10 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley and the shops etc Only two things were they provided tea/coffee facilities but there was nowhere to plug in the kettle in the room. Also the breakfast was a bit disorganised and I think they don’t utilise the space correctly Overall a lovely place to take in the sights of Edinburgh would 100% stay again

A hotel within walking distance to the city center. Since we always prefer hotels of this brand, we were ok to walk a little. But it was unnecessary. Unfortunately, it is the lowest quality hotel of the brand we have seen. I do not prefer to explain the deficiencies in my comments to be constructive. I think it is better to talk to the staff and give them a chance to fix it. Unfortunately, there was no one willing to talk to this hotel. I had to write here. It is not very affordable in terms of price. But we already know that. It is important that it is worth it. They do not greet us at the reception or the restaurant, they never smile, if we have a request, they say 'no'. Especially the 2 waitresses working at breakfast do not make you feel good. (There is a young Scottish girl working at M Club. She speaks Scottish very fast. Only she smiles and helps.) The lady who cleaned our room was also very sullen and we stayed for 4 nights, she changed the towels once, she did not change the sheets at all. (She didn't really change it, I know. She would change if i would tell, but it wasn't a big deal.) The room does not tidy up. The hair conditioner was finished, she only changed it after we asked. There was no shoehorn in the room, I asked at the reception and it was not there either. It was my birthday. They sent macaroons to the room, thank you. But the room was not cleaned, the plate was left on the coffee table. In other hotels first they clean the room well, decorate, a drink and a card are placed in the room along with a cake etc. It is a bit disturbing to leave in a dirty room macaroons. I used hair dryer, after cleaning it stays in the same place without being collected. Tea or water glasses are not taken. Breakfast is good. Food is sufficient. There are several types of eggs. An omelet would be good. M Club is the most inadequate lounge I have seen. There is almost nothing to eat. No fruit juices. No fruits except breaktast time. Only water, tea, coffee. There is breakfast but we had it at the restaurant. There is very little food for dinner. There is no need to pay for club access here. In general, when compared to other Marriott Hotels in other countries this hotel is not good. We will stay in the city center for the same price or even cheaper for our next visit. We will not choose this place again.
