My partner and I just spent 3 fabulous nights here with our dog and had the time of our lives. I have spent several Christmases here and they have all been wonderful. Our room was huge and had a separate living room and dressing room, where the dog slept. She was given a bed, bowls and presents and was made to feel wanted and welcome. The meals were delicious and beautifully cooked and the staff were super lovely, as they always have been over the years. Buck’s Fizz with breakfast was a nice touch and we will return in the spring for another break. Thank you to all the staff who made it a magical Christmas 🎅🏻

It’s a beautiful hotel absolutely stunning, nice big room and quiet set in a nice location close to the town centre We had Xmas dinner Lovely soup to start but only about 4 tablespoons of. Main like warm turkey,small amounts of gravy, the shop bought roast potatoes were well undercooked or possibly reheated microwaved and warm. The staff where rushed of there feet. Oh and no Xmas decor in the dining area not even a Christmas cracker.

This review is specific to the leisure centre, not the hotel itself. Great service within the leisure centre from staff, but unfortunately there are a few things I think could be improved. I've been told the leisure facilities are run by a complete different company, however its a service that is very much linked to the hotel, so I think its important to have it highlighted here, as I don't think there's any other way to give feedback on the leisure centre. With regards to the closing times of the leisure facilities 9pm on a week day is too early and 6pm/8pm on a weekend is also too early. This is in agreement with a significant amount of members and guests I've spoken to. Also as a regular member, I would love to make good use of the facilities after finishing work at 8pm, especially after a 13 hour shift. However by the time I arrive at 8.15pm on a weekday, I'm only left with 30 minutes of use before the staff shut facilities down ( jacuzzi, sauna, steam room). That is another complaint of mine and many others; why close everything 15 minutes before the actual closing time, when it clearly states on the website and on the door that it closes at 9pm or at 8/6pm? This is not only unfair for members, but its unfair for guests. Another complaint is the fact that it's hard to find the telephone contact number for the leisure centre on the hotel website, which leads me to contact the main hotel so to get directed to the leisure centre. What's worse is that you're prompted on the phone to press 3 for the leisure centre, but when you press 3 the line goes dead and you get nowhere but square 1. This has happened to me a three occasions. Please can we fix this. This next complaint is with regards to the shower cubicles that have recently been modernised. Why put the towel hook on the inside of the cubicle? Anyone with common sense knows if you hang a dry towel inside a shower cubicle, you end up with a wet towel by the time you're done with your shower. It makes no sense whatsoever, and it's quite frustrating for a lot of us members and guests to be forced to hang our towels over the shower door to avoid getting your towel wet, as apposed to actually hanging it on the hook (which is what its designed for). One other complaint is the fact that the water dispensing machine near the jacuzzi and sauna has been dispensing Luke warm water for months. The filter broke in the summer of 2024 and we've been waiting for a very long time to get it fixed, even though we've been told by staff that " it will be getting fixed soon". Somehow repairs takes months to complete, this includes the changing room A.C ( which is very temperamental) as well as the ceiling work within the changing rooms that was left unattended for a very long time. As a regular member, I was left embarrassed on behalf of the guests who were left with the horrible sight of gaping holes in the ceiling of the changing room for months. It was that bad that water was leaking from the inside of these ceiling holes and buckets were used to collect the dripping water. Fortunately its repaired now, but seeing this for months is just not good enough. I'm not someone who often writes reviews but there was, and still are far too many things I've witnessed in my 13 months of membership for me not to mention. The interesting thing is, a lot of people I have spoken to that use the leisure facilities are in agreement with these complaints, so when I saw the feedback advert, I jumped at the opportunity to say mu piece. Other than that I love the place, and like I said the service is great, but just a few things that I think could be improved.
