My daughter and I spent two nights at the Hampton by Hilton York. The hotel is conveniently located for sightseeing and exploring the area. Our 2 twin beds room was extremely spacious, clean, and comfortable, with an en-suite bathroom with separate shower. The room had all the necessary amenities, including, air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and coffee maker. The complimentary buffet breakfasts were delicious with an extensive and varied selection of food. During our stay, all the staff were extremely courteous, attentive, efficient, and friendly. Overall, it was another excellent stay at a Hilton hotel.

“Very Nice Hotel”

We cosy clean and nice hotel at mid range. We just had to sleep so we booked 3 Queen Rooms with breakfast. Nice clean rooms, very helpful staff, nice breakfast with very good service. We cosy clean and nice hotel at mid range. We just had to sleep so we booked 3 Queen Rooms with breakfast. Nice clean rooms, very helpful staff, nice breakfast with very good service. Location is also very good and its in centre of the city and famous places. It has a small roadside NCP Pay and Park but we didn’t get space as we reached at night. We had to park at another NCP Parking at 0.5 miles

“Little better than a Holiday Inn”

With a name like Hilton in the title you would be forgiven for thinking that this would be of the very best standard. Unfortunately our experience was disappointing in some aspects. With a name like Hilton in the title you would be forgiven for thinking that this would be of the very best standard. Unfortunately our experience was disappointing in some aspects. Our room, for which we paid almost £290 for Monday / Tuesday was all but underground! With a view consisting of a brick wall and a wall light, it was overlooked to the extent that people could look in on us as they walked in the street 12 feet above. Thus we had to keep the curtains closed when the lights were on. The windows could not be opened as this would have been a security risk. Aircon was the only air we got. Breakfast was below average for this class of hotel. Hot buffet with only one egg choice, no mushrooms, no black pudding ( this IS Yorkshire right? ) One cold meat, one cheese, 2 fruit choices only. Pastry choice too was stingy in comparison with some budget hotels. Queueing for hot drinks, sticks to stir your tea?! Come on now, this can’t be, you can surely run to teaspoons for your guests?! Even Travelodges can do that! The hotel itself is lovely, staff were excellent. It’s handy for the station too. So, to the hotel : Warn your guests about the subterranean nature of some of the rooms. And raise your breakfast game! It wouldn’t cost much and with your name you should stand out in the hotel field. By the way. despite having over 70 working apps on my phone, I couldn’t make Hilton Honors (Honours?) work.
