A lovely building within walking distance of the city centre with parking and we had a four poster bed too. Traditional decor and furniture and even a bible in the bedside table drawer! A very polite landlady and an outstanding breakfast, sausage, egg and bacon all very tasty and with prompt service and no issues to top up coffee and bring extra butter etc.

“Comfortable, welcoming and an easy walk into the city”

This was a great place to stay. We received a friendly welcome and our room was spotless, well equipped and comfortable. This was a great place to stay. We received a friendly welcome and our room was spotless, well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed using the lounge area to sit and read in the evening and the breakfasts were superb - high quality and a wide choice of foods. It was an easy 15 minute walk to central York and only a 35 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride from the station. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely, quality, dog friendly B&B. Only 15 mins walk from York centre with parking. Friendly and welcoming, the owner and staff couldn’t do enough for us and made our stay very comfortable. Lovely, quality, dog friendly B&B. Only 15 mins walk from York centre with parking. Friendly and welcoming, the owner and staff couldn’t do enough for us and made our stay very comfortable. We stayed in lovely ensuite family room with a huge four poster bed and two single beds, which worked well for us and our two teenage daughters, together with our dog. The four poster was sooo comfortable, we had the best night’s sleep ever! Also, the fluffiest of luxurious towels too……lovely! Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of continental choice, as well as full English & vegetarian options. Even our dog was not left out, as he was offered bacon scraps! If you are taking your dog, there is a park just across the road to walk in with easy access. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Individual hotel established before Boutique Hotel became a concept. Tastefully furnished rooms (newly restored), lounge and dining room all true to the Victorian building that houses the hotel. Placed just 10-minute walk outside the city walls the hotel is a perfect point of departure for visiting York. Located outside the city wall, the hotel is also a very well-suited as base for trips by car to the areas around York. To this end the free, enclosed car parking is definitely also worth mentioning.
