I actually really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is easy to find with a huge carpark. My room was no frills but absolutely fine, there is no aircon but the bed was large and super comfortable. Bathroom was a little dated but perfectly adequate. The hairdryer was awful though and made a slightly dodgy noise! My colleague apparently had biscuits and crisps on her tea tray, I had neither which was disappointing! The hotel grounds are lovely and there are a lot of outdoor seating options. The pool was quiet and very pleasant. Bar service was good and drinks were reasonably priced. At dinner it turned out there was an issue with the app we ordered our food on and so there was a very long wait for the food, this was rectified as soon as we brought it to the staff’s attention and the food itself was really good. Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast and perfectly adequate.

Room was ok, but there was an unpleasant smell from outside so couldn’t open the window to get any fresh air. Bed was two singles put together but comfy mattress, awful pillows though. No air con, only hot air radiator. Room was dark and lights were inadequate. Door was secure so good for sole travellers. Carpet was very old and grubby. Bathroom was from the 70s! So old looking with parts broken - and the soap dispenser was broken too, no space for toiletries and dark so very hard to apply make up in the morning. Walls must be paper thin - someone opposite my room was watching tv and that was heard very loudly in my room despite there being a corridor between! Breakfast was very good and the staff were nice. Plenty of parking.

Disappointing stay. I was there for a school reunion and booked a suite. This was very roomy, with a comfortable bed, although it looked a bit dated. Disappointing stay. I was there for a school reunion and booked a suite. This was very roomy, with a comfortable bed, although it looked a bit dated. This is a wedding venue hotel and there was a wedding reception on both nights I was there. Very noisy! Had to battle the wedding guests smoking heavily in the corridor leading to the garden (doors wide open on a chilly night) to get to reception and the bar and restaurant area. I could also hear everything in the room next door, including conversation, which on the Friday evening went on until 6 am...Didn't get much sleep, even with earplugs. The bar and restaurant food was very average with an uninspiring menu and there is absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant and bar. The whole place felt very cheap and not a hotel I would choose for a memorable stay. Avoid.
