Room absolutely beautiful So clean and spacious,Bed and pillows so comfortable Lived the bathrobe and slippers The breakfast was second to none and the staff were so friendly and accommodating.Lovely and quiet and the bar is so relaxing Will definitely return and certainly recommend it

Excellent Hotel, the staff are always pleasant and nothing is too much trouble, Rooms are spacious and are always spotless. The food is of the highest standard and breakfast although on a set menu the staff will attempt to meet any requirements that deviate from the listings. I have now stayed at the venue several times and can honestly say the standard has been constant throughout my visits. Well Done All.

Just 1 night at the hotel, it ticked the boxes for us , 2 couples going out for food and drinks in Hull town centre. Location is quiet in a nice neighborhood and just close enough for walking into old town Hull. The hotel has a homely feeling ,our room 226 was very comfortable with plenty of space and a nice clean bathroom. No tea/coffee options in the room which was a let down for us. Parking is directly outside the hotel but it's a bit of a faff topping up the meter at different times of the day. Overall a decent night at the Kingston Theatre Hotel. As a side note Hull was 10 times better for a night out than I expected..

Despite being a 4 star hotel, it felt a little no-frills. Being an independent hotel, there are alarm bells somewhat ringing when arriving and the usual quirks are there. I think the owners of these establishments perhaps try to distance themselves from the chain hotels but i often find consistency is best. A comfy bed, a quiet room, an uneventful stay, these qualities are what most guests appreciate as a bare minimum. I stayed in a room close to the reception area. The radiator in the bathroom seemed to be stuck on maximum and I had to keep the door shut while in the room to stop it from becoming a sauna. The room must have been about 30 degrees plus when I arrived. While we are on the topic of the bathroom, the shower didn't have a mixer tap so I found myself dialling in the temperature. When a neighbour had a shower, the temperature dipped and it would appear that the heating is off overnight because when having a late shower, it was cold despite running it for a while. The bathroom did however seem to have had a recent refit, but not the room itself which felt a little tatty. The room is close to reception. There was a lot of noise coming in during my stay on one of the evenings during which presumably a private function was bleeding through. The TV looked like it had been installed when the room was last refurbished and was old with a pretty poor picture. The fittings in the bedroom were old and tired and there was a fridge by the bedside which made noises continually during the stay. I usually like a room fridge but having one a metre from your head while sleeping isn't really great. The room is also tiny with most of the space being taken by the bathroom. It felt cramped really. The bed seemed to be a double rather than the queen or king offered in most of the chain hotels and talking to my colleagues it sounds like you have a bit of a lottery with the rooms. Some are better than others. Avoid the lift. I didn't really need it but with my heavy bag, I went to it when I arrived and the buttons didn't really respond. When it did move, it moved with quite a lot of flex and looking closer, parts of the electrical panel had detached and were floating around inside the wall cavity. Another issue I experienced while there was that the door key entry system seems to have some sort of alarm that sounds for whatever reason. I could hear neighbours trying to get into their rooms and the alarm going off. This happened a number of times and woke me up once I'd fallen asleep one evening. The breakfast was reasonably good although it lacks the choice of other hotels. The eggs Benedict more than made up for it though. What I would say though is that they seat theatrical bookings together in one big table down the middle. We arrive as a number of departments and we don't always get along, particularly after a difficult venue. We work 12 hour+ shifts together when moving shows and probably the last thing most of us want when on our own time, is to be forced to sit together. If we want to on the morning, that's very different but it's a little strange really. Imagine all of your colleagues being there when you get out of the shower and go to your kitchen. Yes, thought so. As a frequent traveller (I stay in a hotel twice a week, most weeks) I would urge the management, particularly for theatrical bookings to have a think about housing someone so close to the loud reception and perhaps consider some of the other points. The hotel is extremely convenient being over the road from the theatre but the small issues add up. If not for the distance, I wouldn't hesitate to book elsewhere. We are very lucky on our production to be accommodated in higher end places but often given the choice, most of us would prefer a premier inn as there are absolutely no quirks. The hotel in hull has been the exception for us where it's an independent place as opposed to a Malmaison or a Raddison and so on.
