We recently had our Christmas party at the Derby Mickleover in November, and it was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, the organisation by Zoe and her team was top-notch. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, making the evening seamless and stress-free. The venue itself was stunning – the rooms were beautifully decorated, creating a festive and elegant atmosphere that wowed everyone. The food was delicious, with every course cooked to perfection, and the entertainment kept the energy high throughout the night. Our entire group had an incredible time, and we’re already looking forward to booking again for next year. Thank you to the team at the Derby Mickleover for making our Christmas party so special!

“Amazing hotel, friendly staff great location and facil”

I stay at a lot of hotels, some budget, some luxury and some just as I fancy a break. I on a black Friday spur or the moment offer, booked this hotel. From the moment I walked in the door the staff were amazing. I was having a little trouble with my bags so a staff member assisted me to the front desk. Check in was great.. sorted me a late checkout... the room.... although I'd had the base room, it was amazingly clean and comfortable. The bath was deep and just great for soaking away. The desk was great for my blogging.... and I slept soundly. Didn't use the bar as there was a Christmas party going on... but breakfast in the morning was amazing. Staff again very helpful and friendly. I had an issue with my key when I went back and again.... nothing was to much bother. The leisure facilities are also just fantastic.... didn't use them for too long as didn't get up as early as I had planned to. Booked a return trip as a treat for my partner and I before the mad Christmas week begins. Again was sorted out with excellent rates. Looking forward to staying again x Cali

“It's a Hotel that has woken up...”

As a previous local lad, living in Duffield, I have seen this hotel change brand more times than I have had a cream cake. From Vigin to Menzies, to Hallmark and Best Western too... ?? Having witnessed this hotel from the worst (Menzies) to the other end during its years operating, It gives me a good positioning to write this review. I have always said, " To make a house a home, it's the people that live in it makes the difference." That is the same for a hotel. Every member of staff we met/greeted/ watched was engaging.helpful and honest. Key qualities that are hard to find in hospitality. This hotel has a tick in this box. Over the past few years, it has seen some investment. We are not talking millions, but a bit more love into the Old Classic. Beds have been replaced, table tops and furniture have been refreshed to remove marks and stains and the odd new carpet in places (don't forget the lift carpet though). It makes a massive difference. The food menu offers variety and is typical of a hotel offering. More 'pre-packed' meals that offer a reduced menu with regional offerings. Like homemade Bakewell Puddings or Cobs instead of rolls would take this from 4* rating to 5* for this review. Balcony's are locked on the rooms, but we can understand why. Bottom line, whoever is leading this hotel at this time, thank you. Keep going. It's probably the best stay we have had at this hotel in the last 16 years. So to all the staff, wish you a lovely and when it comes a relaxing Christmas.

We stayed here on a coach trip.to Chatsworth. The hotel is slightly dated but don't let that put you off. The rooms are large, they are clean, the beds are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms (again slightly dated) are beautifully clean. There is plenty of lighting in bedroom and bathroom which is great for makeup! The staff are friendly and helpful and I was very impressed when the duty manager came onto the coach as we departed to thank us for our visit and wished us a Happy Christmas. I didn't use the gym or pool so cannot comment. The hotel is on the outskirts but a ten minute walk from the Mickleover shops.
