Me and my wife have stayed at the Craxton spa hotel twice now. We were very impressed with your hospitality. Particularly the warmth and pleasant feeling we received from your staff. On our second visit we would like to congratulate you on your Ops Manager Jarone. He couldn’t do enough for me and my wife. His kindness and excellent personality shone through. Let’s put it this way I’m definitely going to book a stay at your Hotel on a regular basis. Well done all concerned. Merry Christmas Alan & Jeny

“Clean but tired….fun family pool”

I love macdonald hotels, the times we have stayed I have upgraded to a deluxe room for the extra space and Elemis bath products. The beds are usually nice and big and comfy. I love macdonald hotels, the times we have stayed I have upgraded to a deluxe room for the extra space and Elemis bath products. The beds are usually nice and big and comfy. Craxton wood had a big bed, two singles put together, which is great. But the pillows were tired and flat, and the furnishings in the room looked a little dirty and worn. And the curtains were dated. The bathroom had a few cracks on the sink and the tile work was a little jaded, but the room has a lovely big wardrobe and space. The room maid had done a lovely job however, clean towels were all neat and the bedding was super tucked in, which I love, especially on the little ones roll out, stopped her from rolling out! Breakfast was a bit of a let down, there is a good continental buffet, and a hot buffet. But the server forgot to tell us that if we wanted fried eggs we had to order them, so I had loaded my plate up with bacon and sausage and then had to wait for the fried eggs. I heard someone complaining about eggs when I went in and then realised it must have been this issue, could be avoided with a rehearsed routine customer greeting. Also realised we had missed out on black pudding because that had to be ordered. The pool was great fun and clean , family swim is 9am-11am 3pm-6pm. But again the staff kind of let it down, I asked the spa reception staff a couple of questions and they seemed more interested in socialising amongst themselves, and when I got an answer it was a short unhelpful response. And come to think of it, when I was booking this visit I tried to call the leisure reception to ask about swim times and I never got an answer, I ended up calling hotel reception and they gave me the answer. So overall I think the hotel would benefit from a little TLC or a renovation and some staff management, to make us want to return. But our stay was ok.

“Treatments are well worth it!”

Visited here today, the spa itself was lovely, not too busy, all the amenities were nice too! The afternoon tea we weren’t too fussed on but the treatments were spectacular!
