The shower was perhaps the best I have used. Would I stay again. Yes I would. It was a delightful two nights.

“Wonderful quirky hotel with delicious food.”

We stayed for 1 night at the Rudloe on a DBB basis, which was great value for the money paid. The hotel is quirky and set in stunning surroundings with lovely gardens. The interior of the hotel is filled with artwork, which provides a lovely atmosphere. It's completely different from anywhere we have stayed before, which was a good thing. It's such an interesting historic building. The check-in process was a bit cold and needs improvement as this is a customers first impression of the hotel, and the staff seem uninterested and are letting the hotel down by not greeting guests professionally. The room in the main house was spacious and well decorated a little bit shabby around the edges and not particularly cleaned well! We had a roll top bath, which was nice but no shower head. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were amazing, absolutely delicious, what a superb chef. Couldn't fault any of the food. The staff were very helpful and friendly, this made the meal really enjoyable. Overall, our stay at the Rudloe was very enjoyable, a different and wonderful experience that I would thoroughly recommend.

We booked on a deal , which included overnight stay evening meal and breakfast. We arrived and were told by (marcos son ) who was in reception,that we were staying in the building opposite the main building. Room was clean and decorated similarly to the hotel very strange but lovely. Time for the evening meal , we wanted a glass of wine with our meal , the French waiter tried to offer us bottle which was £60 but we just wanted a glass each at £10!! He went off in a huff and never returned (his name was guy apparently!) I asked to see the manager and was greeted by Marco himself who was very apologetic and ordered us drinks on him and stayed for a chat . Food was amazing and breakfast also lots of add on /supplements so choose wisely, over all a great experience at a wonderful place with bags of amazing rooms and art work

Such a gorgeous residence, a real privilege to stay there. The Arms itself is a spectacularly handsome Victorian gothic (re)treat and most caringly furnished throughout. To have access to lounges and bedrooms adorned with artworks shared from collections of Terry O'Neill, Bailey, Calder? Warhol and other wonderfully juxtaposed genii is a much appreciated kindness by the owner. The lighting throughout, dining environment and attitude to food are also great gifts from the same source. Some of the best dining experiences and stays we've enjoyed I can't even remember the food because of such warm, attentive and naturally engaging service. Unfortunately the opposite is more true as a memory of The Rudloe Arms. It is a fine line between batting wokism and snowflakism to the side and refusing to accept allergies and intolerances are real and present serious health concerns - a review of policy in this regard seems overdue - yes people are allergic to feathers and react dangerously badly to some foods. Above this, more warmth and friendly interaction with guests would teach staff this. Sincerely management, take a trip to Robin Hood's Bay, stay at the Victoria Hotel, YO22 4RL and see how this is done. Their food is better than yours too (ouch). These criticisms don't mean that we didn't enjoy our stay despite them and the crap trampoline bed. Seriously, to furnish every room with Mouseman, fine art photos and fill the restaurant with wonderful combined collections of tazza urns, vintage advertising, hunting trophies and wonderful character deserves better front of house.
