We enjoyed a room service breakfast fit for a King. The Walled Garden restaurant had a lovely atmosphere & a great menu. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner. The spa is fantastic. Loved the very well run equestrian centre & riding around the lovely grounds. Felt very spoilt & would love to return. Thank you! x

As a couple we took a friend to Afternoon tea at Lucknam Park Hotel yesterday. It was one of the nicest Afternoon teas that we have had. The quality of the sandwiches, cakes, scones, sausages rolls and quiche was excellent. However what made it really special for us was the staff, from being greeted at the door and our car parked for us, to the serving of the tea they went out of there way to ensure we were made to feel welcomed and special. On the attentiveness of the staff alone we are planning another Afternoon tea soon. Can't recommend it enough.

“Nice countryside break”

The property is in a lovely area surrounded by picturesque villages. The property is in a lovely area surrounded by picturesque villages. The grounds of the hotel are great and have lots of activités suitable for children including an outdoor park, football pitch and an entire children’s themed room. Spa was nice and quiet. Lots of options for treatments and experiences! Even a Japanese salt room. Cottages looked great. Cannot say the same for the room I was in which I think was a standard. Would definitely recommend taking a cottage over a room. Breakfast was very nice with fresh pastries. Staff at breakfast fantastic.

I had read many wonderful reviews on here, and had worked for a big Firm in London too, who used Lucknam Park for Senior Manager Conferences, so I was very excited for two nights away. Good things about Lucknam Park are the staff (especially James for his endless enthusiasm & Charlotte who served us at dinner in Restaurant Hywel Jones, and knows her cheese trolley!) The Spa is lovely - very clean and well kept, with great range of facilities. We went just after half term and so the pool, steam room and sauna were more or less empty. Bliss! As an aside they sell swimming trunks which is handy (though they mistakenly charged us for two pairs on check out, instead of one!) Some areas of the property need upgrading though - some some dirty carpet tiles on the stairs, and some rather worn down chairs in the lounges. To be really picky the Spa (although fab as mentioned above) needs fruit water / fresh water available in the ladies changing room and some toiletries wouldn't go amiss....even deoderant and hair spray.........like all top spas now offer their guests. Though we had to wait for 35 minutes once checked in just to get coffee and a sandwich, James was very welcoming when he did arrive and again, he is an asset to the place. We ate at Hywel Jones on the second night - good food as expected, but the restaurant itself also looks tired and dated. Worryingly - I had specified on a couple of separate occasions (upon on check in, and to the waiting staff as we sat down) that I didn't eat shellfish. Lo and behold, my main course arrived looking very pretty with guess what.... yes, a dollop of shellfish mousse sat brazenly on the side of my plate. No sooner had I taken my first forkful of fish, was the plate then was whisked away, followed by a handful of apologies throughout the evening. My friend finished his main course by the time my replacement mains arrived, which was awkward. Shame and actually unacceptable for such a grown up restaurant as I'm sure you will agree. Eateries really must be more careful with allergies. We mentioned upon check out, when asked how our stay was (the nice young man checking us out had no knowledge of this) but he then offered a 10% reduction off the final bill. It was a token gesture and although we did appreciate it, our evening was marred by the poor (and potentially dangerous) kitchen comms. On reflection, I wouldn't visit LP again. We felt the prices didn't really reflect the two night experience, and if you are thinking of going, do be mindful of any allergies you have, mindful of autumnal weather + cold bedrooms, and mindful that service can be slow.
