“Nice enough hotel in a lovely place”

The hotel was not as fancy as I had anticipated based on the pictures. It was fine though, just a bit more basic than expected. Breakfast was lovely, as were all the staff I encountered. Good location, I really enjoyed exploring Chester, it is a great place.

We booked this hotel through Booking.com because the price was much better than the hotel website. We booked this hotel through Booking.com because the price was much better than the hotel website. If you book through a 3rd party agency the hotel charges you £12 a night but we know the area well and we parked at the Railway station car park which is a 5 minute walk down City Road. The cost was £36 for seven day parking and still saved £12 with this car parking. The entrance to the hotel along with the reception are excellent and modern as the bar area being nice. We requested a room in a quiet area of the hotel and this request was acknowledged via email. Unfortunately that didn’t happen and we were in a room 2 doors away from the hotel lift which had a droning noise when the lift was in use and this was not good especially late at night and early in the morning. Whilst the reception area of the hotel was modern and pleasant unfortunately when you step into your room it takes you back around 15 years as the room is in dire need of a refurbishment. The toilet has a new light and de-mister mirror but all the other fixtures are ancient, the shower is an old mixer tap with a shower screen. The room is a big disappointment and doesn’t mix with the other facilities of the hotel. The breakfast was fine although the buffet area for the hot food and cereals isn’t big enough for the size of the restaurant. If the rooms were upgraded then we would probably visit this hotel again.

“chester value”

first of all very easy to get to from the train station only a 10 mins walk very nice looking hotel quite clean we had room 207 good room all you need for a couple of days paint work needs touching up abit bath room well the fan was very dusty and the shower needs re- sealing or a new flexi pipe… more

first of all very easy to get to from the train station only a 10 mins walk very nice looking hotel quite clean we had room 207 good room all you need for a couple of days paint work needs touching up abit bath room well the fan was very dusty and the shower needs re- sealing or a new flexi pipe it as a tv/kettle/and tea/coffee all you need down to breakfast did not like the booking of a time for your breky food was ok ish have had better but it did the job the staff 10/10 location of the hotel very good 9/10/ 8 mins walk to back of the town all bars shops and restaurant's yes all ok would i go again maybe but over all 8/10

“Little getaway”

Came for a 3 days with my mum just to get away for a little bit. The hotel it's self isn't that bad! The staff are all very lovely and kind. Room was what we needed...a little on the basic side but wasn't bad for just 3 nights. Although I did find the bathroom a little bit on the small side especia… more

Came for a 3 days with my mum just to get away for a little bit. The hotel it's self isn't that bad! The staff are all very lovely and kind. Room was what we needed...a little on the basic side but wasn't bad for just 3 nights. Although I did find the bathroom a little bit on the small side especially where the toilet was places but wasn't a massive issue. We put the 'Ready to service' sign on our door everyday but room was not cleaned on the 1st day even though when we left for the day the housekeeping team were in the corridor doing other rooms which was slightly annoying as we came back after a long day out. One thing I would mention is the dinner menu there isn't much to choice from, but that being said we had the tapas one of the evening's in the bar and it was lovely!! We also eat in the restaurant for dinner and I had the steak and it was gorgeous. We had breakfast...was a decent one just what we needed before going out for the day. With the carpark they do have barriers that you have to press a button for the reception team to let you enter/leave. One thing I would say is when we were leaving we waited there for 10 mins (buzzing the button on multiple occasions) before the reception team actioned the buzzer. Overall not a bad stay maybe room for improvements but not bad!
