This Hilton Hotel is a great venue to enjoy an evening at ! It is to easy to by pass a hotel restaurant and bar ,however the atmosphere quality of food ,service and not to mention a pianist playing ( on Fridays) makes a great place to be . Whilst we haven't stayed here as yet we would recommend anyone visiting Cambridge to pay it a visit .

“Pleasant stay.”

Great location. concerierge were very friendly in fact all the staff were very good and accomadating, nothing was to much trouble. Great location. concerierge were very friendly in fact all the staff were very good and accomadating, nothing was to much trouble. Yes the parking is a little on the expensive side but the valet service did a great job so I did not mind to much. I liked the lemon/mint water on offer upon entry and filled everyday, very good. Loved that the Gym was open 24 hours. The piano bar was great and the room was great to. The view was a brick wall but you cannot expect to much of a view from a central location. However the room itself was large and clean. It would have been nice if it had a walk in shower but it was nice and clean. I would stay again.

Let me state the positives, of which there were a number, first: the location is good; the breakfast was fine, though somewhat crowded; some of the reception and guest service staff were excellent, particularly the young woman on duty on the afternoon of 27 July (other staff were not). Our problems occurred soon after we arrived on the afternoon of 26th. When we got to our room we found that the safe would not lock. Since we were a family of four travelling from Sweden with passports and a number of laptops/phones, this was not good. I contacted guest services and reported it. The man on duty seemed uncertam when it could be fixed. We asked for another room. He told us the hotel was full (in fairness it was graduation week) but that a room should be available the next day. He said they might be able to give us some discount on our breakfasts. Later I went downstairs to see him. He told me maintenance had a list of things to do so he was not sure when they would get to us. He said we could leave our things in the safe at reception if the safe in our room was not fixed. I returned to my room. Five minutes later he returned with a maintenance engineer. They adjusted the safe. They told us it was fixed and we locked away our valuables. Next morning we opened the safe to take one item out. Then it would not lock. I phoned guest services. The man I spoke to said it was not possible for us to put personal items in the hotel safe. He also told us there would be no other room available that day until late in the afternoon. Since we were leaving the next day this was not any use. I went downstairs and saw another member of staff at reception. He turned out to be a manager. He told me that the last person was wrong and we could place our belongings in the hotel safe which I did. He offered us a discount on our breakfast. We went out for the rest of the day. When we returned late in the afternoon the room safe appeared to be working. We did not use it since we feared it might break down again with our things inside it as we were going next morning. By contrast a young woman working at reception on the afternoon of 27 July was really good and patient in helping me work out payment issues and breakfast discounts. Her attitude was so different from her colleagues. This may seem trivial. However it really was not helpful. Hilton is not cheap. I expected better than this.
