Was slightly worried after reading the recent views but immediately felt better when entering the large stylish foyer. The hotel is right next to the interchange & in a great spot, there is a car park but didn’t use it. Very efficient & pleasant girl on reception, my room, 306 was on the 3rd floor, there is a lift if needed. My room had a small bathroom with shower & bath, toiletries & nice large bath towels, it was clean & cleaned again the next day. There was ample hanging space & drawers with kettle, iron & beverages. The bed was comfortable with nice spotless sheets, the room would benefit from a lick of paint & the carpet needed a clean as stained but was overall clean. Breakfast was an extra £10 per day, the usual buffet with a good selection & lovely fresh fruit salad, vegetarian sausage on request. There was a large wedding on while we were there but noise finished early, nice bar, albeit a bit expensive, with comfortable seating. All the staff were lovely & helpful, couldn’t fault them. Overall I would stay here again, no issues, I would say don’t go on the reviews as it is really OK.

Stayed here for 1 night as this was a package deal when we bought tickets to see Nile Rogers at The Piece Hall Halifax . Arrived around lunch time and room was available.. although paperwork stayed 4 pm check in which I think is quite late for a check in time. Receptionist however left a lot to be desired .. just lacked customer service skills.. didn’t tell us when breakfast was.. where it was .. was there free wi fi.. enjoy your stay blah blah blah.. just said it’s £5 to park please. We asked her which station was the best to catch the train to Halifax.. and how do we get there ( there were 2 apparently ) she just said “ err it’s too complicated to explain” oh right then we will just figure it out then thank you ! Wow Room was a decent size .. bed okay .. cold water tap just a trickle .. Breakfast was okay..usual hot cooked breakfast.. nothing sparkling .. coffee vile. Had great time at our concert though. Returned back to hotel around midnight to find it locked and you had to ring this mobile number to be let in. How strange. Overall only stayed here as part of concert package .. wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Booked in at premier in first but changed to this hotel instead. Nice hotel. Reception staff were sorted, give me a decent room for me and ma partner, lots of space. Nice upgrade. Can’t complain 6/5 stars in my books Didn’t eat in restaurant cos the mrs fancied a Chinese buffet but afternoon tea looks good saw other guests have it. Avenue was a bit pricey but thats what to expect for hotels so fairs, but do plan to come back for ma anniverserry Thought if we are gunna come to bfd from my local Leeds7 might as well get a curry, but staff member recommended Akbars but want in walking distance so we went to broadway shopping centre which was close I like that everything was close really convenient good if you are on foot and dont wantto splurge on taxi or get bus everywhere Nice markets and pubs near by, went ginger goose had a blast! Was meant to try the brekky but a slept in too late, but the mrs said it was a good scran, eggs a bit rubbery but everything else was nice. Nice and comfy bed and want too strict with checkout time unlike other hotels so it was nice to not be disturbed Nice to see the staff are all friendly and relaxed. Can’t fault a single one of yous. All the staff worked hard and was welcoming and always smiley and chatty. Rojan the manager was well sorted, nice to see a relaxed workplace where staff can chill and enjoy, geeza was pouring his own drinks behind bar havin few drinks in his local work place. That’s what I like bout this hotel it’s a Nice community welcoming enviroment, avenue bar was more like local pub. That’s a service worth paying for and will defo be cumin back very soon, and if your hiring give me a bell, other manager said maybe try Christmas time
