“Lovely hotel”

Really clean comfortable room, good food, helpful staff very pleasant manager, Antonio, and great entertainment in the evenings. Cant fault it. Would recommend to all our friends. Near the seafront, (Twenty minute walk) but there are buses.

I'm a single traveller but part of a coach tour. Reading the reviews, I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. My single room was large with a large bathroom. My room overlooked a cluttered courtyard but it has to be said, there was some construction going on in the hotel. It seems this hotel is trying to update. I think my room had been decorated as it was very fresh and clean with fluffy towels and lovely bed linen. My only complaint was it was an over-bath shower which was very high and difficult to get in and out. I should have made my needs known at the booking. Yes, dated and yes no phone or fridge. It's a bedroom, you sleep in it and go out through the day. Who uses the little bottles of shampoo etc anyway? I always take my own personal favourites. I was surprised that it had an iron and ironing board in the room as well as a hairdryer. Tea, coffee and milk were easily replenished by asking staff at reception. The food in the evening was certainly strange combinations but as it is buffet style it has to cater for all tastes. There was always something to eat, however the food wasn't always hot. Dessert not inspiring, the same for four of the five nights. Always soup, salad and main course. I would have liked some choice of cold meats etc to go with the salad. The staff were extremely accommodating. I've stayed in many Britannia hotels as the coach company use them as a matter of course. Have to say this is the best one so far. I met some people from outside of the trip who had been coming to this hotel for over 20 years and I noticed that they were treated by the staff as good friends. That says something. Public areas were very clean. For what I paid, I would say that this was good value for money. I really enjoyed my stay.

“Great weekend”

Firstly why all the negative reviews. Just returned from a fab tribute weekend. Brilliant value for money. Room was clean very comfy beds good pillows. Great breakfast evening meal was nice not too much choice but what was offered was nice. Only criticism was hotel and rooms were very hot radiators… more

“Basic clean hotel”

The hotel is quite standard, the rooms are clean & spacious but the décor a bit outdated but fair for the price paid. We slept well in the twin beds, the mattress was good. However it was too warm in the room and too noisy outside to leave the windows open. Also they have the safety latch on which made it harder to air the room well during the summer. A mini fridge could do well in there. The TV was very basic with three uk channels. Basic English breakfast buffet was ok. The hotel charge £5 /24 hours for use of their car park. The worst issue is their high premium phone rate as they have an 0871 number and keep you on hold for a long time at a rate of £0.60p per minute form a mobile phone. It is a shame they make their money this way.
