We were woken at 7am to loud banging noises. They were refurbishing the changing rooms attached to the leisure facilities. This banging went on for over one hour When we complained about the noise the receptionist was not very apologetic about the situation The changing rooms were very small with just one shower and the floor was saturated with water. The swimming pool was good but no chairs or loungers. The sauna was incredibly small and the other spa facilities were not working Breakfast was ok, a good selection. The cooked breakfast had obviously been there for quite a while, the fried eggs were rock solid The outside needed attention,lots of weeds and a couple of chairs and rather shabby tables .

“Ok for 1 night”

Room was ok, bed comfortable, very dated, desperately needs a refurb, this is evident all throughout the hotel. Tried to use the spa but only the steam room was operational. Room was ok, bed comfortable, very dated, desperately needs a refurb, this is evident all throughout the hotel. Tried to use the spa but only the steam room was operational. The pool was ok but the jacuzzi was freezing. The staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming. It’s a good base for travelling into Lincoln. We stayed here about 10 years ago and it was classed as a high standard hotel, definitely not that anymore, don’t think they have updated anything in those 10 years. As a budget hotel it is ok but definitely not a high end place. Nice and quiet at night. Hair dryer in room is useless, bath is filthy. Bar is well equipped and service is good. Heating in room doesn’t work neither does the extraction in the bathroom. Overall an ok stay and suited the purpose as we came to stay to go to a wedding locally. Wouldn’t choose to come here just for a night away

“An OK short stay”

My wife and I needed 1 night's overnight accommodation in the Lincoln area and chose this hotel. The hotel is in a convenient location adjacent to the A46 although it is hardly picturesque. It is situated next to a large garden centre and a huge new restaurant (Hickory's). The hotel has ample (free) parking. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and, as requested, offered a room on the upper floor. The room itself was quite large but was very dated and some of the fixtures and fittings were worn out, The a/c was not turned on despite it being a hot day. Also, the hot water was scolding. Getting the shower to an acceptable temperature was challenging and meant resorting to a very low dribble of water flow. The in-room safe was jammed shut (we reported this and were told that all the safes are very old/temperamental). However, everything else in our room worked fine, including the wifi. Sleep quality was good as the hotel was quiet and the (firm) bed reasonably comfortable. The dated/worn decor in our room was reflected in the remainder of the hotel. It badly needs a refurb. The swimming pool and spa were nice, but some of the amenities were out-of-service. We had dinner in the bar area and breakfast in the dining room. The food was good and reasonably priced.
