Would highly recommend this hotel! The staff were lovely. The hotel itself was beautiful & spotless throughout. Had dinner & drinks in the restaurant and it was great. The location is amazing with multi story parking available right behind it. Within walking distance to amazing bars & restaurants. Will definitely stay here again. Big shout out to John for his kindness & generosity!

“Average standard hotel”

A fairly decent, standard hotel. I found a good deal via Hotels.com, so all good and saved several hundred pounds. Location was good, but I used to live in Belfast so knew that already. Several requests if I wanted a room service every few days, which was also nice (I never had that in Premier Inn). One gripe I had was with the Freeview channels - most did not get a reception. I assume there's either a faulty aerial/connection. I had thought of asking for a room change but thought it might be too much hassle.

Booked in error. Thought I was booking at Ramada Hotel, Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast but it had changed name to Crown Plaza so ended up in Talbot St, Belfast. My mistake, not theirs! Upon arrival, no one at Reception, went to bar, asked to book in, friendly member of staff booked me in professionally. No issues. Arrived in room, very warm, almost stifling heat. Went down for our prebooked, preordered and prepaid Christmas dinner. All fine, food 8/10 and service very good. Staff presented our 2 x 7 year olds with a nicely wrapped Christmas gifts parcel consisting of a crafts box and a very large bar of Cadburys milk chocolate, each! Lovely, unexpected, free surprise. After dinner, we went for a 15 minute dander to view Belfast City Hall Christmas lights and bimbled back again. Nice. Upon returning to hotel, I went to the car and my wife and children went to reception to request a fan for the room to cool it down. The Receptionist was very rude to them and myself when I arrived 2 minutes later. She did not even stand up but lounged back in her chair disdainfully and openly rude! She refused my wife a fan, then when I, politely requested one again, she said there was no need and insolently asked “Why?”. I responded that the room was overly hot and we’d struggled to sleep. She said nobody had ever complained about the rooms being too hot before. I asked had she read ANY of the hotel’s recent reviews, as 90% of them complained about the room temperature (& paper thin walls - not experienced personally). She accepted that we had done our research and rudely snapped “Ok, I’ll get one sent up to your room!” 40 minutes later, after my daughter had asked for the 5th time, I called Reception on room phone, several times but it was never answered. Eventually, I called the restaurant and a polite and cheerful young man answered. I explained the temperature situation and he offered to bring 2 fans up to our room, personally and immediately. Within 5 minutes he had delivered them with a smile. I later called reception several times to request our ‘included in the price’ 4 sandwiches and soups but again without even it being answered. So did not get the previously agreed suppers for my family. We tried the restaurant again but no answer this time, so eventually gave up! In conclusion, apart from one, rude, young, obviously ill suited to the hotel industry, lady (?) we had a nice Christmas Day overnight stay. About to head down for the included, and much anticipated, breakfast…….. Wish us luck!?! Ps My wife just asked me to add that after the young lady (?) was rude to her, she had gone down again and asked politely for a pen, to which the Receptionist responded “Why?” “Because I need a pen”. “What for?” and refused to provide one!! Seemingly, my wife had previously requested of her that a member of staff tidy the corridor of the several alcoholic beverage cans outside the doors of a nearby room but upon returning to our room, several hours later, nothing had been removed. We’ve given the Ramada a 3 Star review but if it weren’t for the nice restaurant staff member, it would have been lower. Merry Christmas! :-)
