This hotel is part of a well known chain. It’s it a good location in the centre of town. The front desk staff are terrific, local, friendly and eager to help as are the bar/ restaurant staff. If you’re in the modern world and can use the room service app the it’s terrifying. Incredibly easy and the swiftest delivery by, once again, charming and professional seemingly local staff. Only a couple of negatives. Saying for two nights the house keeping was poor. Bed was smoothed over but throw left crumpled on a chair. Towels replaced, but dirty cups left, water etc in the mini bar not replaced so disappointing. Also a peculiar lack of bedside sockets, or indeed any sockets meant you couldn’t have charging devices near you. That aside it’s pleasant and affordable.

“Need to improve”

Having stayed at this hotel before, I was looking forward to a repeat stay. Location is excellent with just a short stroll to the city centre. Food is also excellent, as is customer service in restaurant, and reception. Bedroom had nice decor and very clean, as was the bathroom. Mattresses on the beds make for a good night's sleep. The provision of a kettle, tea/coffee, biscuits, iron, plus ironing board is very welcome. However, I was surprised and disappointed to discover the two extra pillows stored on a shelf by the wardrobe were worn looking and covered in yellow stains..not fit for purpose even if they are supplied as extra pillows. The hotel appeared to be fully booked judging by the volume of guests next morning in the dining room at breakfast, but it was absolute chaos. No free tables. Tables not cleared in timely manner so as to free them up for next guests. Shortage of cereal bowls, glasses for juices, and cutlery. We carried our breakfast into the bar area and sat up at a counter. Coffee tasted very weak, watery. In hindsight, would it not have made common sense given the volume of guests staying on this particular weekend to have set up tables in the bar area thus using this area as an overflow therby eliminating the aforementioned chaos? I hope to stay at the Clayton Hotel on my next visit to Belfast, but would much prefer a hassle free breakfast, and some clean pillows.

“Great staff, but cleanliness isn’t great ….”

Staff are super helpful and courteous, however basic cleanliness seems to be lacking. We as a family if 4 stayed in 325/326 (each room had 2 single beds). One of the rooms had used chewing gum sitting on the tv and there was a string urine smell from the toilet as we just dropped off our bags. Lot… more

Staff are super helpful and courteous, however basic cleanliness seems to be lacking. We as a family if 4 stayed in 325/326 (each room had 2 single beds). One of the rooms had used chewing gum sitting on the tv and there was a string urine smell from the toilet as we just dropped off our bags. Lots of dust everywhere !!!!! Like everywhere !!!!! Beds not properly made. I used the gym and the floor was absolutely filthy as was most of the machines. No cups for the water dispenser either. Breakfast I found was good. I requested poached eggs which were fresh and lots of selection topped up, breakfast staff very attentive I have to say, but again basic cleanliness was lacking. Chips still on the floor from the night before, leather chairs covered in dirt, floor socket beside us absolutely filthy with dirt. Copper lights above our table had a thick layer of dust. The location is great for the city. Short walking distance to city hall, will we be back ???? I’d seriously doubt it.
