We booked one of the John St apartments, and from check-in (i.e. using an emailed keypad and keybox code) and was able to enter fairly easily. The lift was very welcome, but the apartment door key appeared to be new and was a bit of a pain to use. The apartment itself, though, was very modern and well-appointed, but the bedrooms were a tad on the small side, although the beds were very comfortable. We had to request an Espresso machine, as one wasn't present, and the TV wasn't tuned in, and there weren't any instructions. The windows, however, were very dirty on the outside with multiple streaks of bird poo covering them. The Internet connection was very woolly at times, but a tighten of the aerials on the box seemed to fix it. We had to pay extra for breakfast, but on the whole, it was mostly good quality, but the 'full' English fell a little short in size. We used the hot tub after a long day on our feet, which was most welcome. However, the changing facilities afterwards were down a very tight circular staircase and were essentially two toilets, so not ideal. The general location, though, was spot-on and we'd almost certainly choose to stay there again when we inevitably return.

This is a small, cosy, superbly located hotel right in the heart of Bath. We stayed in a comfortable if unremarkable room at the back of the hotel. It was very quiet but I can imagine that a room at the front, particularly in the summer months, could be quite noisy with the Raven pub being directly opposite with outside seating. We had very little contact with staff but they were all friendly and helpful. We didn’t have breakfast in as we met friends in town. If you book direct then apparently breakfast is free! If you want a friendly, comfortable place to stay in Bath, with all of the main attractions within a short walk, and at a reasonable price then you this is for you.

Me and my friend stayed here for 1 night, we was greeted exceptionally well by the receptionist (Cara) she was well mannered, very polite, showed us to our room, but sadly we was disappointed by the lack of care and the quality of mould that caught our eyes as soon as we walked in especially in the bathroom.. paint was also flaking off which caused the issue to become more efficient. Mould was also increasing to the windows which was very visible to us. For a superior room the size was very standard and small we expected it to be better quality. But we was pleased and happy with our full English breakfast which was severed by the lady who took our order, the coffee tasted good also, we enjoy our hot tub experience which was served with a glass bottle of water, also we had to request our slippers for the hot tub which should have already been in the wardrobe with our bathrobes . When we went to make a coffee in the morning the kettle was leaking. But Overall the service was very good but the quality of the room was abit poor unfortunately, but the service was very good 🙂
