One night stay at this hotel Very nice for people on a bus tour or travelling Twin room en suite totally fine. Bed comfortable Dinner and breakfast really good I eat gluten free and they were very accommodating Staff all very helpful and pleasant Very good value for money

I'd read the reviews before we travelled to this hotel as part of a 4 night stay with JustGo holidays. I have to say I was dreading it and expecting an absolute hovel. It would seem that the hotel has had a spruce up since some of the reviews have been written. The hallways have been re-carpeted and the room we were in 112 had been re-carpeted and given a lick of paint. The room had a double bed and a single bed in and was spacious (compared to other coach holiday hotels) and the bathroom was a good size with room for your bits and bobs and a shower over the bath. The room had no view and looked out over the central area of the hotel which was a mish mash of pipes and ventilation systems. It was noisy and I didn't sleep well at all. The room was too hot for me but if you opened a window you had the noise. I caught up on sleep when I got home. The room was not serviced during our stay and if you needed anything reception could provide. I take antiseptic wipes with me on these trips just in case I need them for the bathroom. Breakfast was just a traditional English with tinned fruit and yoghurt available. The toast machines actually worked - I think that's a first for me and the tea/coffee machines also worked. There were only fried eggs on offer. Not for me but everyone seemed to be tucking in each morning. Our breakfast was set at 7.45 a.m. which for me is too early but I'm not a morning person. The evening meal was set at 6 p.m. which is early for me but there you go. I managed to find something to eat and one evening the chef prepared some lovely pan fried fish because I found the other choices too meaty. It was no trouble for them. I thought the food in the evening was very good, again comparing with other coach holidays I've had. I have had a lot worse. There was a choice of a cake and a hot sweet each evening if are a sweet toothed person. All the members of staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The bar prices are reasonable. It's £12 for a bottle of house wine and they had lager and cider. We did go to the pub close to the hotel and found they were no cheaper. It's a typical local pub and we were left alone to have our drink in peace. I've given 4 out of 5 because I have stayed in worse places and it lost a star due to the poor sleep I had. I wouldn't rush back to this hotel and if I did have to stay again I'd ask for a room that didn't overlook the central area.

Basic, budget hotel. We only had one night booked, probably wouldnt want longer. Room was a good size, carpets and bedding fine. Net curtains in poor condition. Black mould around bath/shower and some broken tiles in bathroom. Very big hotel with confusing layout ( rooms numbered 501 upwards were on the 3rd floor?) Some parts of the corridors smelt odd and the lifts were in quite out of the way places. We didnt eat here. Internet access is £7 for 24 hours. Dated but budget friendly.
