“The best holiday”

One of the most amazing holidays that I have ever had in my life. The weather is spectacular and the rooms were comfortable with a perfect view. The entertainment is spectacular everywhere you go. And the magician was appearing everywhere and making us crazy all the time.

I would like to shout out the Mezzerie team for their exceptional service. Team of Shivani, Wasim, Ankur, Melvyine, Riya, Thettin, and Shoaib deserve a special recognition!!! I am visiting here with family from US and I say this confidently that the service received from this team was far beyond than anything that my family has ever received from any dining experience. I would like to make sure the hotel leadership knows to give this group a special recognition. Breakfast or dinner, this team was available for an amazing experience for my whole family. In another review I’ve already laid out that I still think that this is one of the best hotels on the palm having stayed at almost every hotel along the crescent, in terms of facilities, and most importantly, staff. The staff cannot do enough for you, and this applies to every single department. They are a pleasure to deal with and really elevate the stay - it’s the main reason that I have returned to this hotel not only to stay when I visit Dubai but also for day passes when staying elsewhere. To reiterate: the beach is lovely and peaceful, swim past the initial rocks, the adults pool is a nice touch, the food is decent, and service is fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel to those travelling solo, couples, or families. However, there are a few longstanding pinches that have persisted over multiple visits. 1 - poolside service. Quite perplexingly, in order to order food or drink virtually, you have to connect to a public WiFi network (which doesn’t reach every single sunbed) and disconnect any vpn. This is actually punitive and I’ve found doesn’t work. So you are then stuck trying to find the poor waiter that is serving 100+ people and therefore quite hard to find. I raised this previously, corners have been cut with wait staff coverage here, to be clear it’s not the staff themselves but wandering around trying to find a waiter does detract from the overall experience. 2 - cutting corners with the little things. Having transferred from the Waldorf’s sister hotel in DIFC where the little things really made a difference, you can see that this is where the palm branch is cutting corners. At turn down service there are no chocolates, the slippers aren’t laid out and they are cheaper quality, there is no loofah in the bathroom vs. DIFC and the amenities weren’t refreshed even when used over multiple days (e.g. vanity kit or mouthwash etc). The toilet paper is also something you might expect in a uk motorway service station, again different vs. DIFC, This may seem petty but when it is quite literally miles of five star hotels on the palm, you notice the difference, and I think it is fair to compare when the same branded hotel in town did deliver on the little things. This was actually a disappointment this time. You’re set up with a personal concierge at both hotels and in DIFC you get a card welcoming you back from the one you’ve been dealing with, on the palm I haven’t heard from mine despite emailing beforehand - in response to their own email. Merely performative, follow through is important. While the tone of this review does tilt negative, I do want to reiterate that this is still a stunning hotel with lovely staff and facilities. In my other review of this hotel c. 2 years ago I sum up why. That time, I rated the stay 10/10. While im being harsh, it does still deserve top marks once again. Lastly, the construction next to the adults pool is a little unsettling. There are signs at the entrance but the workers can and do stare. Perhaps more privacy screens would work.
