Just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel. My first time in Dubai and this was a great choice. Positives Staff - The staff we encountered were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Especially the bar staff at the pool and the lifeguards, how they remembered our room number everytime I don't know Food - We had breakfast included and enjoyed that everyday, lots of options for all tastes. We had lunch by the pool twice which was from the Italian and very nice and we ate in JB's on our last night whilst watching the football. This was snacky food but also very nice Location - A great place to base yourself if you've never been to Dubai, JBR is very touristy and also child friendly. Be warned you will need a taxi to get to most things not at JBR. The Mall/Burj Khalifa is a good 30 minute car ride away. Dubai is very big! Negatives Pillows - All our pillows were very thin and not much use. We requested some new firmer pillows which were delivered within 30 minutes (great service) but weren't much better unfortunately so we both slept with 2/3 pillows. Bed - The bed was a bit too firm for our liking however I completely understand firmnest is personal preference so would suit some people better Bathroom - Absolutely nothing wrong with the bathroom, everything worked well, we just personally felt it was a little bit tired and could do with a refurb. We would have preferred a walk in shower rather then a shower over the bath but again personal preference and some may want a bath All in all a great stay and I would happily stay here again. I would potentially look at doing half board or even all inclusive if I went with children

Excellent location on the JBR walk close to the beach. The staff were excellent in all parts of the hotel. Shout out to Sujin the lifeguard at the pool. He was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us information and tips about our stay and location. Although hotel isn’t directly on the beach it is well situated for you to walk the area any time of day . Can be a bit noisy from the roads but then Dubai is busy everywhere. We used the general hotel restaurant and the Italian plus JBs bar . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back .

“Another great stay at the Amwaj Rotana, JBR, Dubai”

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel, great location and only a few minutes walk to JBR boardwalk and beach. We were upgraded to a room overlooking the beach across to the Ain Dubai observation wheel on Bluewaters Island, 15 min walk from the hotel. This is well worth the walk as it offers beautiful views of JBR beach and the palm. The wheel offers a light show every evening which you can enjoy from the hotel whilst sipping a cocktail or from the many restaurants along JBR boardwalk. You can also walk to the Dubai Marina and Marian Mall, takes about 20 mins. We were full board, and guests can enjoy 20% discount on drinks which were reasonably priced and comparable to UK prices, some a bit cheaper with the discount. The service is excellent and nothing is too much trouble, just ask. Reception where very helpful, namely Bassel, who sorted an issue for us. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the hotel decorated our room and provided a lovely chocolate cake. Water is provided daily in your room and restaurant. We dined in the Rosso Italian restaurant a couple of times and want to acknowledge the service of Ankkit. If you are price conscious, there is a supermarket next door or a slightly cheaper one 5 mins up the road where you can buy soft drinks and snacks. There is a also a 24 hour McDonalds 2 mins from the hotel. The pool was lovely with several day beds and Sujin the lifeguard was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted every morning with his smile and watched him take care of guests. It was notable that many of the staff have been working at the hotel for many years. This hotel offers value for money, great location and excellent service. As with anywhere, the downsides are: the lifts are slow but you are now able to use the stairs from Reception to get to the restaurants, pool and spa between ground floor and floor 3, after that you need to use the lifts. The beds are hard but mattress toppers can be provided. We will return again to this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel, the location is perfect, rooms are big enough and the view of the beach and the Palm on the balcony are great. Breakfast is one of the best I have experienced, delicious and a great variety of everything. Breakfast room was never too crowded in there are no long queues. There are always taxis in front of the hotel. The beach with all the amenities is close. The whole atmosphere is very nice. However, there are two things I would like to point out. My sister had brought her own face cloths and housekeeping took them. We informed the reception two days before the departure and tehy promised to bring them back but it never happened. Another thing is breakfast on the day of the departure. We were leaving for the airport at 5.45 so we asked for packed breakfast and ordered it as instructed the evening before. They even called us back twice to confirm it and promised to bring it to the room at 5.15. We were waiting until 5.30 but nobody came. We went down to the reception and the receptionist called room service agin. After about 10 minutes we received it: one banana, a very small croissant, a very small muffin and a small fruit juice - very small for a 5-star hotel and breakfast that we paid extra (EUR 29 per person). Other than that, I would recommend staying here.
